i am going to get a new gun soon and was wondering in your opinions if i should get a TM M4 version gun, or an M16 version. i am 5'8'' and am about 127. i was holding jones G&G M16 model gun and it felt fairly bulky, but he said he got used to it.
should i sacrifice comfortability(sp?, is that a word) for range and accuracy?
I got the M4 mostly because it has a tactical advantage. Sliding stock. You can also get an extended tightbore barrel in the inside of the m4 and then get a silencer to put it to protect the barrel. There you would have a base for an m4 sniper type gun if your running for that idea. That would also look very tactical. Realistic! Downside to the M4 is that it takes a mini battery while the m16 takes a large in the stock.
IMO, M4A1!

Well most TM Colt Series won't stay totally accurate for long, as there is a pretty big problem known as barrel wobble, although barrel wobble affects m16's alot more than it would affect an m4a1.

The small battery issue also might not be that much of an issue if you just get a solid stock M4. But if you want a "tactical" M4/M16 series gun I suggest the M733. Shorter barrel, shorter over all, but still takes most M4/M16 upgrades. It can also fit a 9.6v battery in the foregrip without any modifications.
It's really up to you.

Well, the m16 has nice range and accuracy out of the box, but holding one, they didnt seem too long overall. I have the real steel m16 or AR 15, and tracking a deer isnt soo bad either, walking for over 10 miles, but for a TM its a nice feel, really, you would get a metal outer barrel to prevent the barrel wobble, but, still a really nice gun, I thought they wouldnt be soo good bcause they are made of plastic, but they really truely are nice guns, I would go with the m16 just for the ferocious look of it, but the m4 fold up stock is quite nice too, either way, both really popular and up to you.
I have an m4 tightbore barrel in my mp5, and I love it, accurate, great range and everything, you could stick an m16 barrel in an m4 if you get a silencer for it, I beleive.

M4! You dont need a super long barrel in the gun to be accurate! Heck, kade put a 6.04 systema precision barrel in his mp5-pdw and that thing is accurate as all hell!
My GR-16 rules.

Just how many rounds you can piss out.

Don't meen to nitpick too much but, last I checked TM doesnt make an armalite they model their M4's off of Colt's. CA is the only company that models their M4 style rifles off of Armalites.

get an uzi.
Oh God, yet another thread about "what gun should I get".
Here's my answer:
I don't know. Why not get the gun you prefer, instead of asking for people's opinions. We are not going to be using your gun, so honestly we don't care what you are carrying.

Oh good, I'm glad I didn't make one asking whether to get the MC-51 or FAMAS F1, because I was about to.

The only real difference btween most of the guns is barrel legnth, hi caps, and rate of fire(minor). most is looks.

well how is the TM M16A1
Don't forget the battery size, mag size, and weight. Some guns do have differnt modes of fire like the aug with a built in fire select trigger switch or some of the sig 3 round bursts.

TM UZI is basically just a poor mans Mp5, and is 10x better than any gun I currently own.

Well the M16A1 is the "Veitnam" area weapon. It has the triangle shaped grip, in real-life it could fire in single or full-auto, it doesn't have the side release and it has a 4 "prong" style flash hider. The M16A2 is the version used today. It has the round grip, in real life it can fire in single or 3 round burst(no auto fire), it has a round flash hider with slots cut in it, and it has the side release, wich releases the spring for the airsoft model.
Side release? You mean bolt assist? It only releases the spring on some models. I know it does ICS for sure and I think it does on CA guns but does nothing on TM models.

CA/TM/G&G/AE The bolt forward bolt assist does nothing.
ICS is the only one in the AR series.

Both the airsoft versions of the A1 and A2 feature full-auto and have no built-in burst function.

the only model of AEG that had burst, was the Marui early sig versions. you dont want one.
There were rumors that Boom Arms was developing an aftermarket three-round burst module for M16/M4 variants, but one of the sources of this "rumor" stopped replying after it was revealed they had stolen two pictures of his "collection" from another hobbyist. The other also stopped replying. Strangely enough, the two were usually reprimanded for their intense argruments over technical aspects of the guns listed in the pictures.
If you want a functional AEG with Burst Function, you'll meed to pick up a Systema M16A2. But I also hear Systema is discontinuing their AEG line, so if you want to get one stateside, you'd better hurry.
The Systema M16 has a functional bolt releasse which locks the weapon out after 30 rounds have been fired. Hitting the bolt release button (small spoon-shaped, texture button on the left side of the M16 reciever) will reset the weapon, facilitating the procedure for changing a magazine and releasing the bolt after it lock open, last round, on a realsteel rifle.
The current gen Systema rifles have completely modular upgrade systems which allow you to swap upgrades in the field. These upgraded Piston/Spring assemblies are assembled as complete units and listed according to their spring. I believe they are also color-coded.
Unlike the ICS/AE (sorry Tim, they are manufactured in the same factory) CAR-97 Series, the Systema M16 series doesn't require a forward assist to release the spring tension, because the Systema guns don't draw the spring between trigger pulls.
The current owner/admin of Airsoft Ohio forums, Wallace, is a Systema dealer.
Or if you want 3 round burst get a JAC m16 :)

i no its not a m16 type model but the Tm mp5-j has a 3 round burst.

The MP5-J only looks like it has burst on the outside. The marking is purely decorational.
I believe the mp5-j's 3 round burst is purely cosmetic.
The Outer Limits Co2 drop in gearbox is programmable for any amount of burst. It works like an electronic automatic paintball gun.
