View Full Version : TM Broken Tabs
Besides being plastic, what causes the tabs to break on the TM Armalite series? Is it just time, a function of the gun firing and causing destructive vibrations, opening/separating the upper & lower receivers too many times causing wear?

wear of course, but even a gentle fall can do it. just be careful when opening it. winter is especially a bitch about taking em with her.
Im trying a new product for broken tabs, and it replaces them with metal ones. i will post results one i get them tested etc.
sweet.. a new fix for them. i'll be a test subject for ya, lol

hmm... to be honest... both of mine are intact still... i have a TM M733, maybe it could be the barrel weight breaking them, since i have a small barrel it hasn't broken mine yet? (I've had my gun since june of 04)
I have a gun that looks to be like a hundred years old. The top rail was epoxied on to it (originoally an Sr-16) and it has quite a bit of cosmetic defects to it making it seem like it has been dropped a few times and what not, but anyway, yeah. The tabs are still intact and still work nicely. I'll break them if ya want though, lol;) for testing purposes i mean.

By saying a hundred years old, I sure as hell hope you don't mean crap. That gun was a fine piece. Not to mention 4 OTHER people owned it. The gun was NEVER dropped. Don't break tabs for test purposes. That is just STUPID!
I know its a dumb idea, i was kidding to start with. Second, I do realize that it has been through four people and YES it is a good weapon. And I never said it was dropped. I said it looked like it seemed to have been dropped because of cosmetic defects in the outer shell of the gun.
