OK, now that I have some money in hand (without selling my AK). I am looking into getting back into airsoft. Currently I am looking at the CA G36 full version with a Smokey's AG36 grenade launcher (RIS). I looked at the full versions picture, and it seems like that there is a RIS rail on the bottom of the handguard, though I am not completely sure, so can anyone confirm it? And can anyone tell me if the smokey's launcher can fit it?
Also, on a side note. Since CA internals and mostly made of ____ pasted together. I am thinking of gutting everything and putting Marui G36 C internals in it ( or something). Anyone have suggestions on what I should do? And also CA's usually come upgraded with a spring upgrade, should I get a new spring? Like a M100 or a PDI 130?
PS This gun will look very sexy :)
Thanks
kevin
I suggest you buy my G36c and turn it into whatever you feel.

lol, i would but it would cost too much. i would need to get a G36 front end, then a CA carry handle with integrated scope, then a new inner barrel.

I suggest you buy this http://cgi.ebay.com/FULL-METAL-PRIME-LR300-SRF-400-FPS-NOT-TM-ICS-CA-LOOK_W0QQitemZ7188386929QQcategoryZ64635QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem , and than mount it on that one guys huge Lincoln that got driven onto the field at BHD, and use it as a turret, somehow.

That has the longer forgrip for the longer barrel and it has the 203 launcher.
Does it include the extended outer barrel?

yeah, i have seen that one. But I dont like the heat shield (thing) look. thanks though.
Just wanted to know if there is one long RIS running on the bottom of the handguard of the G36
The current issue with the CA36 line seems to be the magazine well. Some are a tight fit for the mags and there are some issues with feeding. You may end up having to go all CA mags or all TM mags. I would strongly suggest buying a spare hop now to save the heartache. The Hop seems to be the biggest flaw in the entire G36 design on both TM and CA guns.
I know many of you hate CA guns outright, but the CA36 and 36K is a very nice package when compared to the other kits currently available. And the CA optic carry handle is way better than G&P's design, offering much better eye relief. The G&P's optics are, quite frankly, un-usable.
The thing I don't like about the kits is that it requires you to add barrel extensions. Most of these require you to use loctite or a similar adhesive to secure the barrel. That's great if you want a permanent solution, but if you decde to go with another design, you're stuck.
Secondly, the stock Marui barrel assembly is somewhat fragile. When you add the outer barrel to this assembly, whacking the flashider against anything can eventually damage the outerbarrel assembly. Big deal? The outerbarrel assembly is what keeps the front end of the gun sturdy and "flex-free." It also secures the hop/barrel assembly to the gun. Body flex in this area can damage you hop.
The HOP is already a fragile design and somewhat difficult to replace. The reinforced hop assemblies which have been out in the last few months, usually sell out rather quickly, leaving you to shell out more money to import one from over seas, or wait until your stateside retailer can get them back in stock.
One of my friends from California has the Smoky's launcher and likes it. But he also has a good job and can afford expensive toys. THose of us who may need financial aid to afford such fine toys may not wish to shellout that kind of money.
If Marui ever gets their butt in gear to release the other G36 variants, I think the answer would be superfluous. Until then, CA looks the better option for a complete G36.

So the fullsize CA G36 has a RIS rail on the bottom of the handguard where I can mount the Smokeys full size AG36?
CA's G36 doesn't have a rail. It has the profile on the grip where the rail would be, but you would need to bolt on your own rail to mount anything to it.
Smokey's AG36 Launcher came out before the full size grips were available. I believe they were first intended to fit the G36K grips available at the time. The original G36K grips had a copy of HK's Proprietary Accessory rail, which is 22mm as opposed to the normal 20mm Weaver. I had to dremel and shape that rail to fit my RIS grip, as seen in this pic below:

The person who had owned my G36K before me, had bought a Grenade Launcher to mount on it. He never told me which one he had and I am no longer in contact with him as he disappeared shortly after selling me the gun (because much of the internals were damaged and he still owes me money). He had said he would have had to modify the grip to fit his launcher, and he wasn't entirely sure it would have been worth the effort.
I can ask my other friend about his and relay the info back to ya. I'm not entirely sure of this, but I believe the Smokey's AG36 Launcher has been discontinued. Smokey's produces much of their item in limited runs. After Star released their kit, I blieve Smokey's pulled the plug on their launcher.

dammit. ill have to probably get the Stars one. though i dont like its looks
I just got back from talking with my friend. He said not to waste your money on the Smokey's. Apparently he liked it when it first came out, but quickly found that it was a piece of crap. He said it was cheaply made and overpriced. He also said it had a horrible finish and was incessantly wobbly - his words.
It will fit a standard weaver rail, though. But you'd be better off sticking with the star.
