I thought I should make a new one, so it's easier to find/read it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, let's get this started. I was very excited for this game. I had figured out that I could wear 1 tight shirt, then a normal shirt over that, and then my bdu shirt. I also wore a pair of paints under my bdu pants. It worked very well, and I only felt the cold on my bare hands.
-------------------------------------------------------------
On arrival, I was relatively confused by the layout. There was no one outside in the prep area, and the large door to the shed was closed. It looked very different. I was planning on being a camera-man, so I had very little gear to haul. I had an echo 1 m4 cqb with an m203 with me for jedi as well. I kept the m203, though. I might want that later.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I said my hellos to Judy and Jason. They were very glad to see me, which is good. They didn't hide behind the counter and pretend to be gone. That was good. I hung around for a while, took a look at two of those POS jls scars, yadda yadda. When the AASA members started showing up, I have to admit I was a bit intimidated. I'm very antisocial and there were a lot of strangers there. I got over that pretty quickly though. It was also a moral boost to catch a few admiring looks at my m4+m203 combo. I met Alex and his friend, and also caught up with Ryan, Hans, and Nick.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Once we started getting the guns together, it was pretty much a stampede. The atmosphere was very energetic, although I may be overstating it. Sgt. Schultz (sp?) let me help set up some of the guns, which was actually either difficult or really easy. I had to have Vedi help me out getting the battery in an S-System. I hung around inside for a while, helping AASA's with their guns here and there, and occasionally stepping outside to take a few pictures. I'd like to note that I took more pics of WOLF members. No offense, but they're way cooler :)
-------------------------------------------------------------
After what seemed like a rather long time, we finally got started. I hung back, because people left at different times. I eventually left with Ryan, his awesome German Beat Boxing teammate, and two AASA's. Or at least I think they were. It had been a while, so while we were back at the safe zone, everyone had been turned to one team. We had NO IDEA. The group at first encountered to resistance, but they saw a group of four to six tangos up the hill. They took cover in the pit and laid down some fire. The group seemed to have retreated, so the four man team advanced. About halfway up the hill, they started taking fire. They took cover behind some trees, or no cover at all, and returned fire. They were doing pretty well at first, but then the rest of the 20 players showed up. They fought them off as well as they could, but they were no match.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I just realized this is going to be really long. I'll wrap it up in a paragraph or two. Or three...
-------------------------------------------------------------
After that, everyone headed back. They rested a while and then started another battle. This was capture the cqb house. Or something like that. I got some pretty nice pictures during this battle, but not a one of the people inside the house. The camera just doesn't work in low light settings. This was really a stalemate, as both teams had infinite respawns. I think...anyways, that ended. They had a few more matches and everyone left.
-------------------------------------------------------------
On a more (if possible) personal note, I bought a sweet multicam plate carrier, a kwa usp, and a cool but trippy acog. Also, I decked out Jedi's m4 mid-day with the acog, m203 and a socom silencer. It was AWESOME. Anyways, I'm going to upload a few pics, just as a "sampler" I took about 130 pictures that day, but I don't have a good way to get them to Jason and Judy so they can put them on the ABZ site yet.

I had a great time, and I'd like to thank everyone for making it a really fun day. Even if I'm not hosting the event ^^

Because of darn work I missed this one... :(.... but you guys still had a good time without the Jedi there... ;)

You can throw the pictures onto photobucket or putfile and Jason and Judy can save them onto their computer from there. ;)

An event that was not posted on the WAA forums. Much like the August 2008 airsoft expo....... :o

Nope, 2008 Expo, that is being held in Waukesha if I am not mistaken.

Eh.... I'd wanna know who the AASA members were before I get taught it.
Seems kinda like the old marksmanship portion / field movement portion of the previous AEC.

Actually, the leadership part was FOR the AASA members :) The leader of the AASA proposed that airsoft would be a good way to help with teamwork and leadership skills.

Then why an after action report on the WAA forums? Seems to me that you are using our forums to promote another organization.

AASA = Asian American Student club, right?

Whats the last "A" stand for?

Either Association or Alliance.

And STILL, why are they being plugged on our boards?

DKruse
17 Feb 08, 03:46 PM
there isn't exactly a rule against presenting an AAR about an event that wasn't originally posted on the boards... and I don't think anyone is exactly plugging their organization... after all... I think you have to be of a certain ethnicity to be in it?

Biscuit-Boy
17 Feb 08, 03:49 PM
Well, I did this because I figured that some people that showed up for the game may also browse the WAA, and it would be easier for them to find it here. It is a bit flawed, but I didn't have any intention of promoting them. They're just some collage club, after all.

I also thought other WAA members/users that don't browse the ABZ forums may be interested. Also, you can display pictures here. I hope I didn't set of any alarms or make someone mad somehow. I was, however, promoting the event. Not like...advertising it, but I did want people to know about it happening. Sorry? Ugh...

Batman, the club members just showed up at the game. PM me if you want to evaluate further or something.

Only thing I have a question about further is... If your presenting an AAR on the WAA boards... Shouldn't some of the other members known of it a little bit?
And yeah, I know... Stuff like Irene and what not get promoted here, but thats because theres a big hype about it, and almost everyone who knows something knows about it... This is just random out of the blue game that was never even mentioned here.
I think that might be where the idea of the "plug" is coming from.

The event was not posted on the WAA forums, many WAA members did know about it.

Besides the ABZ regulars???

If you want to be an ABZ Regular, Maple, all you have to do is begin attending ABZ events. I can help find you a ride if you need one. I know Wolf Recon attend most of them, maybe I can see if they will give you a ride.

I have enough games in my neck of the woods to attend, should I so desire. And I also own a car, so my Mom (or Wolf recon) does not need to chauffer (sp?) me around..... I wear pull up's now too, because Mommy wow, I'm a big boy now.
My point, is besides the Madison/ Chocolate Eau Claire folks, we in the eastern part of the state are not privy to what goes on at ABZ, since the majority of games are not posted on the WAA forums.
While you (not Texx in particualr) will call me an ass for saying so, it once more points out the lines of division that have been created between the East Coaster and the West Coaster, WI airsoft players.
What strikes me as even odd-er, is that ABZ is operated by a WAA member (as is the "WI" airsoft expo) and yet we, the non- Chocolate Eau Claire WAA members (and general forum serfers) are not made aware of the majority of the events being held. IMO, that doesn't bode well for the game of airsoft in WI, since some events are not posted for the general airsoft community to see.
Yes, they are posted on a store's forums, but there are a lot of people who cruise this web site to find events, rather than cruise every small forum in WI looking for a game.

Now, go ahead and start calling me an asshat while sitting at your computer. It doesn't bother me, so feel free to do it. :D

I'm not sure if it matters, but there are plenty of private games that are never posted as well. I know originally this game was asked by the a member of the AASA (which is not a racist org... for if they were... so would the NAACP, no?), so it wasn't as planned out otherwise. And as far as the WI Airsoft Expo... I hadn't even known about a date or location until you mentioned it, then I went to the WI Airsoft Expo website and sure enough, there it was. I'm sure it's just that it was just posted and nobody has had time to share the info around.

Anyway, whether this doesn't have the "hype" similar to Irene and such... I think this event had done a lot more positive effect for airsofting than some events such as those.

I agree there is a "separation" between the state, but some people haven't always been hospitable/welcome to change as they should have, which probably caused only a larger division. At any rate, it's all politics, and that's not what this topic is for. Please take comments about the legality of this post to PM with a moderator, and any discussion about ABZ/the division... I'd be happy to have a discussion with someone or what not... but let's keep this topic on, with the event previously held, whether it was announced here or not(There is no rule against it).

I think we got off on the wrong foot, here, Maple. The AASA leadership event was originally a private game organized by the AASA at ABZ. The AASA invited the local area players to attend the event. If you want to know why it wasn't posted here for all of the WAA to know about, I would suggest you caontact Armsdealer and complain.

I am certain had he known you would be this upset over this one instance causing greater lines of division between the East and West Coast players, he would have made an effort to advertise.

That being said, of the games I have run at ABZ, all of them have been advertised here as have been all of the Wolf Recon games hosted at ABZ. I know the public games Jason has hosted at his field are all posted here.

I would suggest any player interested in attending ABZ events visit the ABZ website for updates.

Maple, if you want everyone to call you "asshat," you might consider asking Ghostbear if you can change your handle to "Asshat." It might cut down on confusion and allow people to call you by a name you clearly wish to be addressed by.

79Trans, what about it isn't on topic? Seems to me, it all is. perhaps someone asked something you feel touchy about, because you are one of the people in the pics?!?!

All & all here, if this was a private game, why post about it? Do you see TFD or Spartan practice session pics on here? No, why? Oh yeah, they are private.

This seems to me to be another attempt by west-WI airsoft players to say "look, what you guys are missing out on."

As for the earlier comment about people resisting change, if you want to see change, go about it in the appropriate mannor. Get involved & do something.

This all makes me even more certian that the reason some want to keep the president & vice president elections for the WAA on the same rotation, is because they want to stage a coupe (sp?) and try to over-run the organization, to turn it into some sort of profitable outfit, to front their busines practices.

Ok well here is where I guess I should say something. Biscuit, Great post thanks for the effort. I think its great that we now have 21 new airsofters from the university of River Falls WI who are entering the sport of airsoft as taught by our two WAA AEC trainers Kerrick and SGT. Schultz great job guys and way to make the sport shine. These players have all been instucted they will have to attend a scheduled WAA AEC course to continue to be eligible to play on most WI fields!:D
