i have a fairly new (one skirmish) UTG MP5 and all of a sudden it wont shoot. i put a fully charged bettery in and pulled the trigger and nothing, i am new to the use of an AEG so i dont know most of the easy problems please help
could be a blown fuse. could be a shorted motor. could be bad connections somewhere in the electrical system.
does it make any noise at all when you pull the trigger?
and, do you feel comfortable taking down a gun?
OH, and I do commend your actions of actually searching this topic before you posted. I noticed it when I checked to see if you were online. It said you were searching the forums. My personal opinion on this.. Thank you greatly.

ya i just got it so i dont no much about the AEG but i do believe its a bad connection. there was no response when i pulled the trigger and i dont think the fusxe is blown

Mmmm, Sounds like you Selector plate isnt touching, could be alot of things though. I would have to see and Mess with it to know for sure.
Either RTO or myself can work on this for you if you want.

i can tell you why, its made by UTG it broke within one game, theres your proof that UTG guns blow.

RTO's UTG is just fine, and he used it at BHD.
Mybe UTG will end up like CA with all of those damn lemons, who knows.

Yeah, already trying to help him with it, who knows how lucky he'll be though, lol. And I had this same problem and all it was was the wires wern't connected completly connected to the motor.
Its not because UTG sucks. I've had mine since BHD, and used it THE WHOLE GAME AT BHD. It is just fine and it works great still.
Don't bash it until you try it Bucket. It works just as great as your Mp5 did/does (don't know if ya were able to sell it).

Well some people like golden showers, bukkake, even hentai fantasies being fullfilled, so i think the "dont knock it" bullroar should shut up. at 9:19pm to be specific.
It works just as good as bucket's ex-mp5? BULL! His old mp5 is my new mp5, and it works by far better than that UTG. Weither its range, power, accuracy, sturdiness, and reliablity, i win. Not to mention replacement parts and upgrades are easily available and cheap.

the UTG mp5s have the same upgradeability as what a mauri does.... f*ck it... i'm not going to get in a fight because quite frankly, its dumb.
they aren't a cheap alternative to mauri's, i'll be the first to say that. they are a clone of guns that is opening up the market inside the us for a cheaper price to get people involved in airsoft.

never heard of a mauri before.
They aren't clones at all. They ARE a cheap alternate to TM. People buy them because they are cheap and don't want to spend more cash on a TM or a CA. They want to buy a cheap gun that works. It may work, but how well it works and how long it works are 2 different things.

Did you drop it? The thing that happend to me is my Tm mp5 dropped from the top of my gun case to the floor which was a total of 5 inches.. What i think happend is i think the gearbox was still in the middle of a cycle with the spring still compressed...
well when it dropped it seems that the piston jard forward throwing off the timing... then causing the gears to lock up because the timing was thrown off... but that was a few weeks ago and now it works great..
if you know how.. or if you know someone that knows how to work with gear boxes... try and get the gears and the piston back to were it needs to be..

That's because you are a noob. Once you have been playing airsoft longer (I know you just got you first AEG less than a month ago) you'll know more about Marui. :D

if you guys want to start a UTG sucks/doesn't suck debate thread, that's fine. if you're posting in here though, please try to help Roadkill with his problem ("UTG sucks" is not sage advice, BTW). 5 out of the 26 posts thus far (27 including this useless post) pertained to the original topic. fun for you maybe, but not fun for Roadkill....or maybe it is. i don't know. ;)

Have you actually CHECKED the fuse? It's pretty easy to tell if it's blown. If it is not blown, then take off the motor plate & check the electrical connections to the motor.
If you pull the trigger (with a charged bat in the gun & selector not of "safe") and NOTHING happens at all, no movement, no noise from the motor at all. Then it's an electrical problem.
as do me and another timmay, i agree with that completely.
its much to difficult to try and pinpoint a problem over the internet. its much easier to try and fix it in person. when it comes to something like this... honestly, its almost cheaper to buy a new one because figure if you broke the motor, its going to cost like 30 bux i think, w/o shipping. broke some gears, that could run you anywehre from 15-100 dollars. and the prices just keep going up.
I know you said that you hadn't even paid off the gun yet roadkill, but I'm just saying what almost seems practical when it comes to the UTG's.
lol, maybe thats why they are so cheap. if they do break, they cost only a fraction of what a MARUI costs, lol. but i've not had any major problems with mine yet to see it need new parts or just buy a new gun, so i'm happy.

well if u got a new motor or new gears they would actually last then ...
a new motor i'd recomend right off the batt... it seems very weak, compared to any major brand airsoft gun.. gears on the other hand.
i'd say the gears are deacent. i layed down a 30 second burst and the gears and piston have no show of wear or tear.
it really does depend i guess.
i've heard a few stories of them having to be retrurned, and i have had no problems with my gun so far and she works great.

i do have to agree with all of you on that.
the lack of metal parts on the UTG is ranking somewhat high, but it is worth the 100 that you pay for it. quality decresase, but affordable to most.

But seriously... you are still spending well over a hundred dollars on a gun, and right now its end of the season... just save up another $50 - $100 during the winter and get a TM or CA.
Newbs love UTG AEGs, because it makes them feel superior to have such a fine weapon for almost half of what the experienced airsofters pay.
What fools. They could have such a fine weapon for about half what you'd pay for on a Marui - Punk-ass Overpriced Japanese garbage. Even if your UTG breaks, you can replace it and stil payless for a second than you would on a Marui. Only a fool would pay full price for a Marui.
So say your second one breaks, you can buy a third one and still pay less for three than you would for one Marui. Three is better than one, you foolish retards! Now I have 3 AEGs and I pwn all of the experienced fools out there with their fancy-schmancy Marui MP5. Only a fool would spend this much money and have ony one gun.
For the price of 3 UTG MP5s that may break, you can buy one functional Marui. Three is more than one, so UTG is better.
Why spend all that money on a reliable functional gun when you can get three inexpensive, less reliable guns?

My UTG mp5 survived one skirmish. Granted I have only put 300 rounds through it. At the D-day event there were 3 players that used the UTG mp5 both night and day and they worked just fine.

Is a good choice for a budget secondary weapon- I think so
One thing I was suprised by was the metal rails on the sliding stock, correct me if I am wrong but are the TM rails on the sliding stock plastic?
One of my buddies in Ohio has a UTG MP5 and swears by them. Hell yeah, after he gutted the gear box, replaced the internals with hurricane and systema parts, replaced the hop, inner barrel, motor, and dropped it into an ICS MP5SD body, it was every bit as reliable as an upgraded Marui. And he only spent $350 to do it. I believe the only actual "UTG" parts remaining is the mechbox shell, the wiring, and the full stock. But it is still better than shelling out cash to buy a Marui and upgrade it... :o
They are improving, but I still am not entirely convinced by them. The stock motor is crap and that has been confirmed time and again all over the internet. The stock wiring is questionable. The plastic body is sturdy enough or is at least as sturdy as the one on my old Marui MP5A4. But I would really only trust it after putting it through a good break-in period.
It may be a budget choice, but I'd rather take my chances buying quality.
