QUOTE4.7 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.
-----------------------------

Under PayPal User Agreements Section 4.7, no party may charge extra for PayPal's fees. Charging extra for PayPal's service is against their policy for a good reason: some people have been cheated out of sizable amounts of money because of an "extra" fee for PayPal.

Just thought i would bring this to every ones attention. I dont charge for paypal and never have and as i found out totday no one else should be either. So I would say that as a community we should abide by the rules and act accordingly..

You don't even need to say that your charing an extra fee, just include it in the price or suckup the cost yourself.

Fish,

That is correct, but you must then charge the BS surcharge for ALL transactions. That is their point. So, you either price your stuff 3% higher and possibly lose a transaction or two to HK or you dont and have to eat some of the fee.

Wait what is the fee for? I don't think I've ever had to pay a fee for using PayPal, but then again I only use it to buy stuff and I just use my credit card through them.

if you are selling and recieveing money then they charge like 3% or something so its the one who gets your money that eats the fees....

When you receive money from someone, PayPal takes out $0.30 + 3% out of the funds you received (if the amount is under 1k I believe. That thirty cents goes down as the amount over 1k goes up if I remember correctly.).

That small service fee is what PayPal takes out or charges you to use their service.

You can send money for free / don't hear about the charges, because in the end of the transaction the person you are sending money to is paying the fees.
