- attacked by bees 2 stings and 1 attempt to go in my ears and made me scream like a lil girl
- jumping a wall over 6 ft and thinks that if i did this 20 yrs ago i should still be able to do it, not to mention the gear i have on. fell on my back almost broke ankle.
- playing same side with fellow FIBs (rats, ie and shrubber) and Cheeseheads (grpw, tfd) was awsome. these games really bring us all together as a whole and of course su on opfor.

The cadence video is still up on my machine. :)

And Blitz, it may not be the LAST one at Zussman, it just isnt going to be at Zussman NEXT year. They could come back later. :)

Or not. :)

Either way it is a GREAT OP.!!!!

I am going to have to start training for next year soon. I need to get into shape before I do this again. :D

ANdy is in 2 pics.... He thought he was only in one & that one isn't flattering, so he was anoyed when he left here, but I found him in another & it's not as bad as the 1st :)

As for the video, all I get when I hit play is "we're sorry, this video is no longer available"

Let me guess, he only has on the last 5 seconds, when I lost it...

Charlie dont surf?what is that your battle cry?

Batman
22 Oct 07, 02:40 PM
The CO's motto was "March or die"
The Command Master Sargent's was "Charlie don't surf"

Our unit's battle cry depended on which one was leading the charge at that moment. Either way, we whooped but.

"Charlie dont surf" is a quote from Apocalypse Now & the other team was "Charlie Company". We were "Delta Company".

Hey guys,

I just want to commend our brothers in 1st platoon for doing an awesome job.

First off, my hat is off to you, Hanzo and Shrubber.

You two did an awesome job as 1st platoon’s leaders. You made great tactical decisions (despite the chaos), you were open to suggestions, and you took your roles to heart. You both put in a lot of effort behind the scenes (which unfortunately, most people will never know about), and you did it without any thought to your own glory. You kept everyone else’s interests first in your minds while staying humble, down-to-earth, and inspiring others to have fun. You did a truly exemplary job, guys.

All the Rats commented to me on how much they enjoyed running with you. We'd be happy to serve "under" you again at the next one.

I also would like to add how much everyone in 3rd squad enjoyed being a part of 1st platoon at large. We had a lot of great players and squad leaders to run with all weekend. Fischer, Batman, Ghostbear, and Paul from WI were awesome, as well as Blitz, Dominic, and Wickey. 1-4 saved our bacon more than once while defending the ZNN building's right flank during scenario #1. 1-4 was also "Johnny-on-the-spot" during the hotel rush at the end of #1. Thanks has to go out to Wickey for lending one of our guys his back-up in the field so we didnt have to run with a gun down.

Sebastian and crew from 1-2 kicked butt all day too, running bandages to us during #1 (so we didnt fold like a house of cards) and sacrificing themselves to hold up our left for us when we came up on the service station during #3. We tried to return the favor where/when we could, because we were so impressed with the selfless attitudes and teamwork being demonstrated all day. To be honest, the conduct of our fellow players in 1st platoon inspired me way more than any speeches or "hoo-ahs" ever could. I ,and the rest of the Rats, were honored to be a part of it.

Thanks to all the 1st platoon troopers, squad leaders, Shrubber and Hanzo for making this such a memorable event. Irene V was a blast!

Cant wait for the next one.

FFF

PPS> Im the guy on the left in this one. I wish you could somehow hear the hundreds of bbs that were zinging all around us at that moment. There was stuff on fire, rockets flying around, people screaming in the streets... it was nuts:

Okay, Now that I have a little more time....

From a Delta 1/4 rifleman's point of view the day went like this.....

Scenerio 1: Little confusion the 1st 30 min, as to why we hurried so much to get into the city, only to wait.. Then it came down that we were to be making contact with the locals & attempting to gain their trust. Once that came down, it made a LOT more sence & I thought it was kinda cool. Handing out "aide packets", tootsie rolls & bubble gum was kinda fun. Then, the words "CHARLIE INBOUND" came & the sky turned orange. Akin, myself, two guys from BLDG 9 & the MSGT held the corner of our BLDG & got to shoot into a nice fatal funel that charlie was pressing, between the embasy & hotel.

After that calmed, our BLDG being in the middle of things, we got to play a little bit of floating safety & got to help out the other BLDGs & squads under attack. I'll never forget seing a certian phonetic alphabet named player run towards the bank, where the River Rats (Delta 1/3) were, only to kick the door (slight comon sence rule violation) & get stiched by 2 or 3 Rats & maybe even a BB or 2 of mine, as I shot through the window, from our BLDG.

They took a foot hold in the hotel early, we fought them out, they took it over, we fought them out..... At the end, the ONLY BLDG they had owned for that phase was the hotel & at the end, both teams were living there.

By the end of Scenerio 1, Delta had a 2000 to 85 point lead (aproximatly). Charlie never recovered from that, though they did "lead" a couple of the following scenerios.

Scenerio 2 was a foot race to control the city. The BLDGs on their side of town were worth more points, so.... Yeah, but they couldn't take anything once we started shooting!

Scenerio 3 was a flip-flop of 1. We took the school, service station, one of the town houses (possibly all 3, but Im not sure) the market & the convienience store. Not bad against a team that had just as much time to set their defences up as we did, consitering they only took one BLDG from us, when it was ours to defend.

Night games, well, they were just cool & the "non-point" games the following day could only have been better if they had counted, cuz we kicked their arses again!

River Rats, U guys rocked! Thanks for the can, it made a nice frag & keepsake. Ci-For, nice to see Paul wasn't the only goof on the field. (I mean it lovingly Wickey) U guys are a blast as well.

For the cartian Charlie player, from a Chicago baised team, that shot me in the throat, AFTER I bang-killed him & refused to call himself, we will meet again & next time, I wont bang, so dont complain if I shot you "too close." Im mearly not going to give you the chance to use my larnix as a BB catcher. You lived up to the reputation your team has apparently earned over the years, which is sad, because Im sure there are guys on your team that DO play honest.

Everyone else.... DELTA BABY!

Hey guys --

I just want to drop a heartfelt thank you to my Wisconsin airsoft brothers-in-arms this past weekend.

Andy/Ghostbear/Paul, et al -- without your years of experience and participation, the tactical decisions that were made (both defensive and offensive) would not have happened. Thanks! A full "Thank You" note is posted at our Irene-5 website located at: http://www.armand321.com/irene5

BTW, I will be archiving the contents of that site this weekend and will convert it so it can continue to be of use... If you need something in the portal (intel briefs/maps/etc) please go ahead and download them between now and Friday.

Lastly, I've posted a couple of vids (cadence and 'march or die' cry from Msg Mullen) at my YouTube site. Feel free to view 'em.

I said to him, "hey Hanzo, you're bleeding."
He looked at me, spat on the ground and said, "I aint got time to bleed."

Or maybe that was Jesse Ventura, I get them confused :). Anyway, that bb was actually lodged in his face until he popped it out (eewwwww).

Proud to have run with you guys:

Actually it is Fort Polk, the facility is Shugart-Gordon, the reason is that it is the 15th anniversary of Somalia and it is a tribute game of Irene. So, there is no better place to have a tribute to the event as to have it there.

So, here is the details on that facility

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/report/call/call_96-7_part6.htm

Look below the information on the airfield, at the village info.

thats a long haul south.... i think flying is now an alternative. i hope they have the same effects as zussman though coz the technicals and the pyros in zussman kicks ass.

Triple F
29 Oct 07, 03:50 PM
For what it's worth, John Lu told us Zussman is the only MOUT facility in the country to feature pyro. I was unclear if he meant pyro on any level whatsoever, or just on the same elaborate scale as we experienced during Irene.

Regardless, I wouldnt count on flashy explosions and fire at Ft. Polk (not that it matters; it'll be awesome anyway).

FYI...

Fort Pickett is in VA and Northern Winds IV was there in Aug.

I hear that Northern Winds might be held in WI somewhere this
coming year? Any word on that or will it be back in VA?
