What a day... I swear mother nature tries to crush any attempt I have at running a zombie event! :P First, 91 degree weather and now rain. It was a wet and sloppy day, but almost 50 people came out and played in the second installment of Operation Plague. The battles were intense and a ton of fun to watch (I have tons of awesome footage from the game and still have to collect the tapes from 2 other cameras that were on the field).
Thanks to all the players that came out and made this event a success. Every event has hiccups, and this was no exception... the rules were pretty in depth for the game, some players had to be pulled aside by me, I had to yell at a few people who demasked while in game, and (as usual for a game like this) the close range shooting happened more often than was comfortable for me. 99% of the time it was innocent, but I'm still trying to find a way to reduce it. Other than that, the feedback so far has been that people really enjoyed the event... I'll write up a full AAR sometime in the next day or two and I will try to edit some of the video I have and make a mini-movie out of it this fall.

I thought the rain and it being overcast added to the overall creepyness when a human. But anyway this game was AWESOME! There was much great stuff that happened, like jumping on the guy with the huge hammer and then running at a another guy, who was dual wielding pistols, and seeing the look on his face when he ran out of ammo with three of us around him:D. when Op: plague 2 comes around I will defiantly be there:)

All I have to say is sweeeeeeet!!!!!! That was a cool game. Being a zombie was a lot more fun then I thought. There is no better way to get a adrenalin rush then roaring with 20 other people and running down into a wall of bbs. I loved being a surviver. ICE it was awesome running with the three of you at the start of the 2nd game. Facing a wall of zombies with only 4 guys was pretty cool:D But having the CAW helped. Then beating the snot out of the zombies with clubs and other things(Chainsaw HAHAHAHAHAHAH:D) was pretty darn cool.

I had a Great time. I think this was one of the best game this year. Yes there was close quarter shooting but it is bound to happen in a game like this and to be truthful I didn't mind it one bit. It was a tuff call between being a zombie or being a survivor, but the 4 man stand taking down 3 waves of zombies was just one of the best memories i will come way with in this game. I don't think it could have gone any better. Shifty, Jackael, and Wildcat we did a great job :D. Thanks again to everyone involved in the game. Special thanks goes to Kerrik for throwing one of the best games of the year. When Op Plague 2 comes out you know ICE will be there.
Our camera people took over 400 pics for this game and I am hoping to get them up today
Please checkout our website to take a look at the pics. www.ironcrosselite.com/Photoalbum

Thanks again to everyone that came out to play and a big thanks to WAW for all the prizes at the end.
I would have to agree with shifty. All in all it was ane awesome evtnand a good time seems to have been had by all. I.C.E. was awesome for letting use run with them for the day. It was great time and The I.C.E. team was very fun a friendly. I look forward to future events from this sieries as i am sure most of us who played are as well.

I had a blast! It was great fun even with the rain.I was great jumping out and scaring people and hearing some of them scream or watching someone calmly shooting only to run out of ammo with 3 zombies still running at them! Thanks to the guy who noticed that Bears lenses fell out! He asked where to get such fog free goggles, and right as he said it Bear noticed that he could stick his fingers right through and into his eyes! A bunch of us crowded around to shelter him as we looked for the lenses whch were only abot 10 feet away and snapped back into place and we taped them as well. perfect timing as we were about to rush the survivors!A fun game for sure and Im looking forward to the next one.

I had a great time playing. It kinda sucked being a zombie for the first round (took lots of shots from 3-4 feet away). Oh well, it only hurts for a second or two. Maybe next time Kerrik you should limit it to only pistols, which normally shoot a lot less than most aegs. I was using my Glock aeps exclusively for the last round, which turned out to work pretty good. They shoot around 200 fps, but still had enough range to take out the zombies at a distance. Unfortunately I lost one of my glocks and the holster it was in when I was jumped on by a zombie and tackled to the ground. It turned out ok because I was tackled by a cute female zombie and someone later turned in my glock after my friend and I searched the woods for almost an hour. Thanks again to whomever you were that found it.
Also Jakael, it was my friend Junior that made the comment about Bear's lenses. That could have possible turned out bad. Overall it was a good time, and actually felt like I was in a zombie movie at times. It was pretty nerve wracking being surrounded by fallen zombies, knowing that they'd be getting up sooner or later.

That game was one the best games I have ever been too. There was just something about the never ending waves of death coming my way that kept me jacked up on adrenaline all day. Thanks to those who put it on and made it happen. To those who stood with me on phase two: jakeal, cochesse, shifty, nice work taking out those waves. I must admit that I had more fun as a zombie and taking bb after bb...but then again, i'm not excatly right in the head, and I know this game comes with some pain. That's why I play...i'm addicted to adrenaline. Well, like I said, thanks to everybody who made this such a memorable event. And remember to check out the pictures at ironcrosselite.com when they get put up.

I also earned a new nick name from this event. Stumpy, It was during the first faze and the survives were right near our spawn and so a few of us run after them. With it being wet and all my goggles were pretty much useless. All I could see was blurred objects. so here I am running after some one, I burst threw the brush and Wamo!the next thing I know I am on the ground not breathing. I had run right into the roots of a fallen tree. I got the wind Knocked out of me and think I bruised a rib.

That it did but that is going to happen. I am guilty of it and got shot more then once at that range, hard to tell when the adrenalin gets going and you really think that they are going to get you. I saw a lot of guys and gals holding there fire and get taken down because they were two close. But in a game like this it is going to happen. Still had a great time.

This was the most fun I've had at an event in a very long time- but rather than offer my own AAR, I think these two nifty snaps by ICE pretty much sum up my day.

(This is my personal favorite, with the third zombie casually chilling in the background grasping a severed leg.)

sorry guys the pics to until around 12:00 last night to finish uploading and syncing with the server. So they are up now and we have a few movies that are on there also. Check the bottom of page 2 for the movies.
again let me know if you want hard copies.
The best part for me in that bottom pic was that I got one of the guys that were standing around me out. (I was the one in the gray sweatshirt)
Then I got tagged by a saw and a hammer BOO!! :D

Hahaha, the weapons in those two pics look like they came out of a world of warcraft game(specifically the top pic,the person wielding the riot shield). That warhammer looks awesome by the way to whoever made it.I also see there was another chainsaw this time.

Sorry guys... it will take me a bit to compile the video and get it to where I want it to be. My last college term just started, but I will try to get it out in the next couple weeks. I also just got a copy from the other 2 cameras on the field as well. Another teaser trailer (from footage from the 14th) is in the works, and then I will compile a storyline video from all the footage.

Hey Jonesy,
Good news.. I'm working on some of my event trailers as we speak! :) A friend of mine also cut together a quick trailer that I will post as well. I'm trying to hold off on showing the trailers until I can update the new 2008 event info for Op Plague 2. More to come shortly... :)
