would you guys/gals ever be interested in having a pistol-only game? (it seems shotguns would also fit in nicely with a skirmish such as this.) has anyone played in a such a game? (i believe there was a small pistol-only battle in the castle at Apoc the morning of Cartel Wars.)

i get the impression that many of us carry sidearms, but we don't really get to use them much on the field. i realize it could be difficult to build a plausible scenario around such restrictions (assuming you're looking for a milsim-type flavor), but i think you could be creative and still have fun with it......thoughts?

CQB would be the cats ass for that. Hell i prefer a pistol in there.

I think playing pistols could be done at WGR, it would need to be kept to a small area, and we could play like a C.O.P.S. or Reno 911 Scenario. Taking over buildings and chaseing perps an such.

Or even a wild west theme. Like a poker table in the middle of the battle

kade there we go... We were thinking about having the same type of deal only w/ springer pistols, we'll save that for another time... Depends on if i get mine sold and buy another.

Sounds like fun and a whole different type of play.

i just might be interested in this game, the CQB part of it sounds good, or if we could/did just use the feild (one with the Hotel, not the entire feild) at garys place, or wherever it is.....

what do you guys think about gun limitations for this kind of event? i think shotguns would fit in well. they have a greater effective range than most pistols, but their rate of fire is generally slower and their max capacity is relatively limited. what about AEP's? with 100 round mags and full auto, they're practically AEG's. but if AEP's were allowed, shouldn't MAC11's also be allowed? i believe they only have 50 round mags, and their range is comparable. then what about MP5K's? similar in nature to AEP's and MAC's, but with 200 round hicap mags i think they would fall outside the realm of fair competition. (i think it'd be great to see some dedicated grenade launchers like the M79 out there though. :D )

so where should the line be drawn? i think there are three major factors that need to be considered when looking at weapon viability: 1.) effective range; 2.) rate of fire; and 3.) capacity. obviously, like in any airsoft skirmish, not all weapons will be on the same level of firepower. however, in this kind of scenario some sort of power ceiling needs to be established.

I think this might be a fair limitation..... Aep's ok since they were purchased as a sidearm and it would be a little unfair to say no. After that nothing more than a gas powered gun with internal gas supply (i.e. TMP, MP5k, but not classics).

You could limit all weapons to semi-auto only... that would take care of the AEP advantage.

i've always wanted to play a game with just lower quality guns, using minis and CYMA LPEGs as a reliable source of cover fire while some other people use spring rifles.
