Scenario 1. Ragnorok

Summary:

"A full scale nuclear exchange, lasting less than 60 minutes...could wipe out more than 300 million Americans, Europeans, and Russians, as well as untold numbers elsewhere. And the survivors--as Chairman Khrushchev warned the Communist Chinese, `the survivors would envy the dead.' For they would inherit a world so devastated by explosions and poison and fire that today we cannot conceive of its horrors."
-President John F. Kennedy, address to the nation on the Limited Test Ban Treaty, 26 July 1963

The year was 2011. It had been a decade since the world had fallen under the cold shadow cast by terrorism and fear. Numerous conflicts and invasions in the “war against terror” had led to political turmoil and dangerous tension among the world’s great powers. At the same time, a precarious world economy based almost exclusively on the availability of all-too-exhaustible resources was finding itself facing the end of an age of prosperity, and this was an end that would not come peacefully.

They should have seen it coming.

On a day that began just like any other, the nation of America would suddenly find itself to be the target of the largest attack ever witnessed by human eyes. An unknown number of nations, coerced for years by a government that wished to see the spread of democracy at any cost, would suddenly rise up in violent rebellion. They would send into the skies their vast collective stockpile of nuclear weapons, hoping for no outcome other than the complete annihilation of the American people and the “evils” that they stood for.

But none could say what was truly good, and what was evil. And none could have imagined the hell that would be unleashed upon the human species on that most fateful of days.

Over the course of a few hours, the landscapes and skylines that Americans had previously held to be unchangeable were wiped from the face of the earth in an ungodly firestorm the likes of which this world had never seen. The warheads streaked down through the cloud lines, vaporizing a nation of cities and the millions of innocents who dwelled within them. They could not have known to expect it, and they could not have hoped to escape. They could only stare in horror as their world vanished before their eyes in a blinding flash, before they too were erased from this earth in the unrelenting carnage that ensued.

That was the day that America died. But she did not go down without a fight. In the moments before her cities were ravaged, her population of doomed innocents looked up to see the true might of the American armed forces, taking flight in the form of nuclear-tipped missiles and fully loaded bombers, soaring across the oceans to hand their attackers the same fate which they had bestowed upon the Land of the Free.

But in the end, it meant nothing. The Americans never learned of the effects their weapons of mass destruction had upon the cities and homes of their assailants. And even had they known, it would have done nothing to justify the unimaginable loss that was suffered by the entire human race on that day. The millions upon millions of lives, taken unjustly and in vain. The pristine landscapes, those rolling hills and amber waves of grain, reduced to nothing but dead, irradiated fields of gray ash and lifelessness. Those beautiful cities, now nothing more than charred steel skeletons and desolate streets cluttered with debris and the remnants of those who had once lived.

So much lost, and nothing gained. Nothing left to give reason to the survival of the select few who had made it to shelter before the bombs laid waste to their homeland.

And yet they were alive. Alive, and lost in a land that no longer resembled any part of what they had once called home. No hope for a better tomorrow, no refuge from the sickening desolation that was all around them. But they had seen what they thought to be the worst of it, and they had lived. They felt now that they were destined to survive, and that they would someday rise from the ashes and find themselves in a new world.

But in the wake of such horrible human atrocity, trust was no longer an option. Their world was now a dangerous and inhospitable wasteland, and there were not enough resources left for all who had lived. Survival would only be granted to those willing to fight for it.

And so they fought. They took to arms and vowed to destroy any who stood between themselves and their future. All of them so sure that they knew the path to salvation, yet none of them willing to work together in the fear that they might someday face another loss.

God save their tortured souls, and lead them down the true road to redemption. For the coming days will surely be among the darkest of them all.

It is now 2013.

tl;dr 2 years after the nuclear apocalypse

-------------------------------

So that's the situation. Here's some more specific stuff.

The RP itself takes place in Los Angles, California, one of the two cities to survive the nuclear war due to counter-ICBM systems like "peacekeeper missiles." America has split into four major "Tribes," but that comes later. Officers, members, and soldiers of each tribe have been sent to the City of Angels, due to the strategical importance of the now war torn city.

--------------------------------

-How the game will work-

There will be a large amount of objectives, different ones for each tribe.
Tribes will attempt to complete their objectives, while preventing other tribes from completing theirs. Some objectives can be accomplished by any of the tribes. Each objective will be worth a certain amount of points, the amount of points per objective increasing with difficulty. Whomever has the most points at the end of the game will... well, win. I don't really know what happens to whoever wins, but they win.

----Points

Each tribe starts with 0 points, besides the Yakami tribe, which starts with 1000 in the forms of weapons, which can be traded and sold as a bribe or for other items. Most points will be earned by possessing an item, rather than just completing an objective, so they can be traded, like the weapons the Yakami start with. Also note that most objectives include items, so you can take an item and make an opposing force have to pay or fight you for it.

--------------------------------

---------------Tribes

There are four main tribes, along with the military. At the beginning of the game, all of the tribes have a shoot on sight policy for other enemy tribesmen, and the military is against everyone.

Each tribe is different, specializing in a particular type of weapon, vehicle, and set of tactics. Also, each tribe has their own leader, and has access to generic everyday weapons for standard infantry like hunting rifles and shotguns, magnums, to the very rare Silenced MP5A4, as well as a vast amount of M16s and M4A1s stolen from the local National Guard posts, while other weapons such as P90s, AK47s/AK74s/ and the weapons of the armies of old being shipped in from the remaining arms dealers in the East, although they are extremely rare and expensive.

Red Alliance: The Artillery tribe. With that, they also have custom made light and heavy artillery.(( In airsoft terms, they have airstrikes ))

Holokaustoses: A very aggressive tribe, have access to a giant stockpile of weapons, which they can use to bribe other tribes with. (( Have the most points at beginning ))

Bahai: Known for their armor of their infantry, having possession of almost indestructible jeeps and other vehicles. (( AKA get a jeep or whatever is available ))

Rastafari:They have access to a large amount of Heavy Machine Guns, such as the M34, M249, and Russian RPKs, Vulcan Cannons, and high power assault rifles. (( In other words, get people with the best guns on their team, the most gunners, etc ))

Military: A large group of the remaining military. Make up for specialties with sheer numbers (( This is for whoever is left, is basically the 'middle' class ))

Thanks to Robs for the intro.

It's kind of iffy, but I'll put out more specifics and stuff if this gets anywhere.

sounds like good stuff, your really gonna have to get some major guns and vehicles if your going to go through with this(unless you intend to let people fall into different tribes depending on what weapons they have).Still a game im sure people would get into

Yeah, dividing by weapons would probably be the best, although if there are teams or squads or whatever they can stick together.

WoW vedicardi this sounds playable. Are you interested in bringing this game to life? Get back to me as this one could take some serious planning ahead of time.

Yeah, that's one of the problems, I guess. It take a long time and I'd need a lot of people, those are the two biggest problems.

Were you planning on splitting the field into 4 parts,or a large warzone?I think the warzone would be a better idea, just give each "tribe" a designated hq and it should be fine.Another idea would be to somehow split the field into "turf",where one tribe could control it and another tribe could do a pushback(like gang turfs in saints row or GTA:san andreas). If you want more ideas I got a ****load of them that i'll be happy to share. :D

I was going to have A warzone with HQs. like you said. One for each tribe and one for the military, and have a "neutral" area in the middle and other random places, but I know what you mean by push backs, I think. Like the one team could take the other team's HQ, then control two HQs.

You have a lot of ideas? I want to hear them all. All suggestions are welcome. I really want to do this.

One question I have is, do you think this would be fun for a firefly/freefall style LARPing game. It would certainly be more to what I wanted the game to be originally. Not only centered around combat, but story as well.

I already have the storyline, essentially.

I'll type it up for you, and you can give some suggestions. You should have it by tomorrow.
