ATU BDUs

Does any one know if those ATUs are any good or not it sounds kinda cool but does it really work well for all terrains?

Probably since the entire army is switching to them as their standard uniform..or at least thats what I heard.

From what a friend of mine has said, they are not as effective as other patterns currently in use, but it seems the military wants to cut down on having to have 2-3 patterns that are effective and just have one that is somewhat effective. As the military is moving into more and more Urban Peacekeeping-type missions, camoflage becomes less and less of a priority.

The pattern, is obviously more at home in the middle east than europe or many regions of the US. It appears that the Middle East will be where the majority of the US Military will be operating, at least for the next few years.

The design of the new uniform is certainly an improvement over the older 10 pocket BDU design. Pockets are much more ergonomically positioned to offer actual use. The new uniforms also incorporate features to allow the addition of elbow and knee pads in a much more integrated fashion that previous designs. It also adds features that eliminate chaffing whiole worn with armor.

Finally, it should also be pointed out that the versions available are simply copies of the original. That being said, there may be several further descrepancies not present on the actual issue uniforms. These may be minor, but are still present, just the same.

The material these new uniforms are made from is very comfortable and were I part of an actual team, I might encourage the team to move to this pattern, simply because it is different. But I'm sure, over the next few months, many groups will flock to this new pattern until its one of the only one we will actually see.

Personally, if you want to find out how effective the pattern will be in your area, you will need to purchase a set and do your own field trials. If you are worried about cost, then you could simply purchase the boonie and work with it.

I've gotten the ACU and it looks awesome and seems to blend in well with woodland and would work grate in urban but I will have a review soon

it seems kinda just desert and urban mixed ... you should come to an event and we could get a good view of how she looks in the field.
