How was it guys? Everyone dropped out on me a few hours before the event, including my ride, so I couldn't make it, I hope you guys had fun. Now, let's hear about it!

it was good and fun, though China couldn't do to much, but I had fun.

It was a lot of fun. We had a few radio troubles that cut down on the back stabbing. The all day format has pretty much wiped me out for the night as it was sunny and hydrating became a priority. It was a nice change of pace, however from the game phases that we normally have.
I caught a bb to the temple that blead like a son of a !@#@. It looked pretty cool and luckly didn't hurt after the initial impact. There was a lot of close fighting and sneaking that made the game a good time.
Thanks Crow for the scenario and thanks Gary for the field.

I had a blast, and I'm really tired.
Thnx Crow for putting on the game, and Gary for the use of the field.
The game was great. Wish I would've taken off before I was caught as a spy! I had fun being dragged around as a prisoner and giving away the position of my captors though.

Yeah, you looked pretty frightening walking away with blood running down your face. Glad you're all right.
All in all, the game went pretty well, and I had a great time. Thanks Crow, for the game and the opportunity to spy for my husband (even if he didn't use me to my fullest potential  ). Thanks Gary for the field and the boat ride. Sorry our fearless leader split your boat in two.

You guys think you're tired????? I got home & slept for 2 1/2 hours & then went in to work for 10! Im just getting home!
Okay, my take on the game...
Gameplay:
1. Well, there was a great deal of confusion on the rules. Our team (along with others) were standing around, discussing the finner points in life & waiting for the game to begin. It was at this time, that a squad emerged from a tree-line, that we had been told was out of bounds. Not their fault (I guess) as they said that they had recieved conflicting info, but I digress. Anyway, we were "killed" before we even knew there was a game on. We later found out that we were supposed to have a radio tuned in to a speciffic channel to be told when to start.... Coulda used that info before hand, but that's a issue I've decided to move on from.
2. Uniforms were confusing. We had guys that were "friendly" to us in tiger stripe & opponants in digital. Do yourself a little science project some time... set a pair of tiger stripes, next to a set of USMC issue digitals some time, then walk 50 ft away & put a bush between you & them. You dont need much foilage, just a little. Okay, tell them apart now. Hmmmm, oh yeah, you cant. Greeeeeat. Additionaly with that, there were guys on both sides in solid OD & also in mix-matched solid colors. Explains why I got knocked out 1 of my 3 times, by friendlys. The other times were, as mentioned above &...... NICE SHOT DUDE (whoever you were).
3. I still have no idea who won. I assume us, but then, Im still not sure who we were.
4. I think I spent about 5:30 of the 6:00 of play time waiting for something, someone, anyone to PLEASE COME FIGHT US.... (We wern't allowed to move on our own)
Sportsmanship: At this event, I saw more arguing then I think I've seen at all of my other events combined.
1. As the weather got hotter & people got more fatigued, I heard arguments break out over NOTHING! At one point, we were dead & had been told to just sit & wait till the other team moves on, then re-gen. As we sat there, weapons slung & sitting in the shade, I get shot 4 more times... Okay, no kill rag, that's fine. I can see how he might have assesed us as live. I tell the guy "hey dude, we're already dead" (& for once, I wasn't a dik about it) so that he can move along. How does he reply? "I know, I just shot you." Okay, whatever... just wait for him to move on Bryan, no need to tell him how dumb he is being by striking an attitude. He spouts off "Im gonna shoot again if you dont put your kill rag on!" I then have to explain to this gentleman that my kill rag is sitting under 1 ft of mud, where my partner's foot had been stuck, somewhere in the back 40. As I do this, the guy next to him, who has been there for this entire contact, starts to shoot at us. "WE ARE DEAD! PLEASE STOP SHOOTING US!" Guy #1 now starts yelling at us to go re-gen. We then have to explain, under fire from the guy next to him (& I think from him) that we are waiting for him to move on. Finnaly I just tell him that Im not going to argue with him, he wins, if this is what he wants to hear, please carry on. He goes away, still talking smack. Kids these days (he was about 20 though).
2. If you don't know the rules yourself, dont argue over them! We had a little show & tell for this one. At least 2 people are just inside the tree line & they open up on us. Okay, sweet, fire-fight on. We are in a clearing, but behind cover & start returning fire. I can see the shape of at least 2 people, prone, shooting. I lay BBs that way, as do my team mates. Player to my right (I'll spare his name) shoots one of em out. That player yells "hit", but makes no effort to stand up, get out of the way, put their hands up, notta. The other opponant is still shooting, so, we return fire. When he gets hit, he also yells hit. Okay, ceace fire & scan for threats. player to my left sees movement. One more in the trees, crawling (mind you, not getting up, crawling forward, towards us) trigger time again & then there is the same voice yelling "Hit, hit, G-- D--- it. HIT!" Off the trigger again, the 2 we just shot come out of the tree line, it is now that we see kill rags on them. In the shadows, we never saw them put them on & could not tell who was who &/or how manny were there, only that there were people. Honest mistake. Player to my left tells them "sorry, we couldn'd see you...." ("put your kill rags on" is where he was going with this, before he was so rudely interupted) cut off by "Well stop your F---ing blind firing then. The following was an argument over what is blind firing, that results in a non-fire demonstration. I will say, hats off to Gary for being Johnny on the spot & helping to explain the situation to some people that were obviously emotional to the conflict. In the end, those who were arguing went seperate ways, hopefully without hard feelings.
3. Playing after a hit... Well, it was an open game & those do tend to attract this type of crowd, but I mean COME ON! I think there is one guy, sitting at home, with an ice pack on his azz right now, trying to get it to stop saying "Airsoft Elite" from the imprints. If this were dodge ball, his left but cheek would say SPALDING about 500 times, at various angles. Then there is the guy I shot, about 30 seconds before index. He was 40 ft away, standing (not walking, or running mind you but STANDING) in the WIDE open & I had all day to line up the shot, before watching 4 of the 6 BBs I shot go into his chest. He flinches from the impact, then dives to the dirt. After they call index, I calmly ask him "Hey man, you didn't feel those hit you?" He replys with the same attitude as seen in #2 above (Except he stamers, as if nervous to argue). "If you shot a guy with real steel & he didn't die, would you ask him if he felt it? You were close though." I had no reply for that.... I just couldn't imagine that this kid was actuially compairing an in-effective .223 hit with airsoft! Dude, whoever you were, if you are reading this, perhaps you don't realize it, but airsoft is a game. I HAVE seen what it looks like when someone gets shot with a real bullet & doesn't even realize it. It does happen. I could only advise him that I was not saying he was lying, but I didn't believe him.
THe best part of the day (for our squad) came at the last hour of the game, when we were finnaly allowed to go hunting. Kill ratio was sky-high, even though my internal gas tank was on fumes.
Thankyou to Gary & Crow. I hope that neither of you take any of my b--ching as a reflection on you. It isn't at all. I just needed to vent. All & all, I just think there were too manny moving parts & not enough identifiable OCs. But the couple times we REALLY needed either of you, we were able to find you. For that, again, thankyou!
For all the players, remember, what makes for a great event, is great sportsmanship. Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was the tides, maybe it was the way I look at Stylin, that others wish they had someone they loved that much, but this game, I think a lot of the players didn't get their gold star for the day in the "works well with others" section.

I know I didn't. I consider myself a pretty even headed individual interms of keeping my temper, but I did get a little hot under the collar as the day went on. I'm sorry to whoever did that great flanking move on me in the last hour of the game and i repremanded for not bang killing me. You shot low (THANK YOU!!! Great sportmanship to keep it safe). You had great trigger control (the full auto blast was only about 4 BBs and you were probably expecting a lot more people on the path). I was about 14' away (outside of the bang rule) and facing the wrong direction but with my weapon to the side you were approaching from. You were in Marpat and a boonie (on ICE?). Honestly, you are the kind of airsoft sportsman we should hold in high regard. When I think back on it, this is probably why we should cherrish having phases in a lot of our games. it gives us time to cool off both physically and mentally.

As merc's I had a pretty milsim game today. Even though it was quite lacking in many aspects. We lost a man right of the bat but gained a few others. After that I sat in or outside of 2 for the best of my day. Ranking nonsense, watching Fists Of Fury, Smoking and just chilling is what I did for pretty much the whole day. I got to chill with some cool people and just talk, it was great. When **** did hit the fan, it was great but that was once. I was pinned behind 2 for a good 20 minutes by what I think was 2 gunners and a few behind a bunker. That ended and for the rest of the day it was back to chillin'. As far as game and play wise, it was lame. I wanted to get out and get some killage on but that didn't happen. But the part where I was able to just sit there and shoot the **** and chill was great so it bring the suxz00rz back to decent.
Thanks to all who helped put on this game, the players, and the field owner.
Oh and for the winning of that Uub3r L33t mask that will soon be tested on with all sorts of fps'es...

P.S. - "Burrito"...
BTW: Hey Stylin, did you ever get a chance to use your 'weapon'?

I'm still slowly recovering from the game... which basically shows how weak I am. My SR-16 looks like it is in need of significant internal fixing as it died again as it did at Round-Up. I didn't bother with the M733 because the Hi-Capa was just too fun to run with. There were some funs times crawling through the brush for minutes while BBs flew overhead to try to get to a single objective. I'll keep working on my death scenes since I think people are getting bored of watching me die all day.
Good times... Another thanks to Crow, Gary, and all the players who made the trip out there.
Best part of the day...

I had a lot of fun, I personally like the lag time, it put in the effect of the real military, hurry up and wait, you never know what is going to happen next. The chinese could have been setting up an ambush or they could have been attacking friendlys or planning an attack. You never knew what it would be. The firefights were cool and slow, not fast paced. I really enjoyed it as a mil-sim game.
What I didn't like,
Now this has really nothing to do with the field owner/game planner but there was a few instances where tempers were raised, people just need to remember it is a game. There were some non-sportsmanlike players and there were a few arguments. Just talk it over gently rather than screaming at eachother, respect your fellows that share this great hobby with you. Don't be a jack-ass in the instances a few people (mainly batman) mentioned, again this falls under respect and common sence.
I was also very PO'd at the fact that somebody took one of my friends and used him (while he was dead and without his consent) as a quote "Meat shield", they took him and used him as an actual shield and he took unnecessary hits. Being the humble good sportsman he is along with batman, the people who comitted these acts are lucky the victims were so calm about it, those are the types of players we need, not all players would have been that calm about it...
Now, I stated my thoughts, the game was great, props to Gary and Mr Crow for the raffle and the field and the great game. Also thanks to Depot53 and Firepower for the raffle prizes, they are greatly appreciated. Props to Batman and my friend and others for being such good sports and keeping it all calm, most people wouldnt do what you did.
With that, I enjoyed batmans singing in the hotel :)
Thanks all,
Rattler

(i know this is way after the game but...)
i had a good time...it was very milsim in that it was all hurry up and wait. but i think that makes the game fun, you have no idea what youre preparing for you just have to hope youre ready when it comes.the ak i was loaned really helped b/c i didnt have an aeg at the time.
this was what i didnt like...so my dumb @$$ didnt bring sunscreen or bug spray (i know im a genious right). so that night at my friends house in germantown i realise my shoulders are BRIGHT red and my neck is still white...most impressive burn line ive ever seen i think. then i counted my bug bites...120 something of them. getting to sleep that night was good fun...let me tell you. it invloved alot of alcohol and passing out at 4am.
my bites have pretty much subsided though...im ready to go do it again this weekend!
