AK Tactical Vest

For all you AK-47 users out there, I'd like to know what you all use for mag storage. Tac vest wise. Right now I use standard ALICE web gear and the AK pouches I have right now are just a pain in the ass. I've been looking at the "AK Tac Vest" thats on a few airsoft sites and was wondering if it's any good/comfortable/allows good movement/confortable while prone/etc. Heres a linky http://www.paintball-x.com/product_info.php?cPath=315_62&products_id=159

I'm pretty picky about vests I guess, I had a bad experience with one vest being too stiff and everytime I crouched or went prone it rode up on me and the shoulders were over my head. I also have a standard US LBV that I just hate. Any advice or ideas?

When looking at any vest, you always want to ask the following:
1.) Will it do what I need it to do ?
2.) What is it made of ?
3.) Does it meet my needs for what I carry? (Camelback, gear, etc.)
4.) Cost ?

I went through two different Blackhawk vests before I finally decided on a suspender set-up. The vests seemed stiff and they were hard to move around in, plus they had a tendency of getting hot. Take your time, look to see what's out there, and make the best choice based on what your research turns up.

Viper, seems like we're in the same boat, but unfortunately the suspender set up isn't all too friendly to AK-47 users. I love my suspender set up, but as I've said the mag pouches are just too difficult to use efficently. I've looked around and that AK tac vest seems to be the closest thing thats between a vest and the old suspender set up.

the tact. vest i have will hold 4 large AK mags, and 2 small AK mags (the 250 shorty mags) :D it works perfect for me.....i dont know where it originally came from, or what kind of vest it is...i baught it rom RTO, ask him about it.....(little help here RTO??)

for authentic Russian gear check out Red Soldier (http://www.redsoldier.com/) and Russian Combat Gear (http://www.russiancombatgear.com/). their stuff isn't the cheapest, but it's pretty cool.

you might also want to drop in at Red Alliance (http://www.red-alliance.net/index.html) -- their forums are full of AK aficionados.

i had a vest similar to the one you linked to, Dingo. it was actually pretty nice, but since i don't own an AK i sold it.

RedSoldier.com is the place to get a "real" Russian combat vest. They get their stuff from Russia direct as the tags on my eq. can verify. I have gotten all my camo and one of the M32 "Tarzan" vests from them. It holds 8 AK mags in 4 double sized mag pouches. Around $100 bucks, but for an AK vest it's very much worth it. They currently have4-5 different ones.

Yeah, I've been to all those russian sites and gandered at those vests also. But personally I like the suspender set up so I want to keep it as close to that as I can I guess. That and I don't nessesarily need to look Russian just because I have an AK-47. I have a feeling it will come down to trial and error I guess. We'll see next paycheck.
