I have 2 ICS M4's
The old one I bought about two years ago and has seen about 15,000 bb's threw it.
The new one I bought about 10 months ago and has had about 4,000 bb's threw it.
Both guns have identical spring upgrades.
I was using the newer one at BHD and noticed that it had a better ROF than I remember my old one having. So tonight I sat both guns side by side and took turns between the two shooting full auto, switching the same battery between the two guns. My new one definitely shot faster.
Any ideas?? Motor pooping out??
Thanks in advance guys.

motor, how everything fits in the ealier one, how its shimmed, what version parts it has, how close to tolerance both springs are, etc. theres many a factor and they all add up together.

This wouldn't be a proper fix, but what if I used a 9.6 volt in my old gun? It would crank it alot faster. Or is that a foolish idea..

how fast you wanna rip the internals apart?-i hate answering a question with a question :)
Also-if you decide you wanna replace the motor, i have an ICS turbo 2K for 10 bucks. Teeth are in good but not excellent cond.

ICS guns changed versions through-out the years so they would have slight differences in any given year.

I'm sure my old one is a V1, I took a risk but it's still with me! The newer one is a V2. Still, I remember my old dog shooting faster when it was newer...
Ya, I know better than to run a 9.6, thanks for the voice of reason. Where in the world were you able to pick up an ICS turbo 2k from Timmay? I'd be interested in that.

It's kinda tough, because I don't know if I really want to tinker with everything. The gun shoots great still, if not a little slower than most. The only thing between the two guns that is different now that I think about it is the old one has a systema ball bearing piston head. Would that slow it down?
It's also a question of getting new parts vs getting new gun?
the day tim sells BOB is the day dick gets a life.

Now that you say that Kenu, yes it could slow it down a bit, since the spring has to compress less, but is under more pressure to start with. those ICS motors really arent THE greatest for power. Either way, leave it alone if its ability to kill has been untainted. :)
