I was wondering if there are any upcoming CQB games preferably around southern/southeastern WI, or if any event organizers would make one up. It seems like no one ever plans CQB games.

moved this thread to the upcomming events. Really this thread should be deleted as all available upcomming events are posted in this section

The problem is not in the fact that no one wants to, it is in the fact that finding a place to do them is NOT easy...
It's not just a problem for airsofters man. Even in the real world, we can't hardly ever find new places to run our SWAT team through.
TFD is trying to find the time to build our CQB facility up at Andy's field. When it's done, we will all have a place to do it. Might not be southern WI, but at least it's within driving distance.

One thing i think should be offered, is a training day. Im not trying to bash anyone, but CQB is dangerous, fast, stressful, and only people who are responsible should be allowed to participate.
Not saying you have to be current SWAT only, or etc, but a LOT of people cry for CQB, and most who want it havent had jack for experience, side of what LL Cool J shows us or books.
Id venture to say a training day could cover basics, since theres a lot of ways to clear a building, and not all of them work according to who you talk to.
The basics i say, is how to be safe in fast paced tight quarters stuff. Once you learn what not to do, adapting your methods is the rest of it.
This type of thing would be for the benefit of all airsofters, as it gives ability to those without knowledge, and confidence into veterans playing against inexperienced players.

i agree loofah. The other thing about CQB is that alot of people ask for it, but then complain when they get shot from witih 10ft by an AEG. Lets be honest close shots can and do happen alot more in CQB games then they do at any other game.

yes, Loofah, a training day would be a very good thing. 79TransAm, perhaps the training day or whatever would cover safety precautions like gloves, extra clothes, full face protection, etc.

well that stuff is only upfront protection parts.
Mainly what im talking about is how to meter a door right, or threat assesment, fire control, muzzle control, and some team work. those things take a lot of experiance to build.

Ironically, a certain Special Response Team had poor fire control, oh, he also didn't know that the multiple little bullets on an MP5 means that it'll shoot full auto. Point blank in the head... needless to say, an EMT was involved, but otherwise it was a fun day :)

Eh, because I'm a nice guy, and if my memory serves me correctly, it was their first time using airsoft guns, so there may have been other actual circumstances that were not revealed to us, I'll keep it in the recesses of my brain.

Oh, I liked the kid at the Michigan game, who put his head over the top of the stairwell I was covering to shoot, just as I put a round up them. hit him right in the roof of his open mouth..... THats what he gets for blind firing up to then :)

Yeah, that Michigan game had a bucket load of examples of how NOT to perform in a CQC environment. Two separate instances where I was lit up by people running past a doorway and shooting into it on full auto, not checking for a target. Proof that just because you have line of sight, doesn't make it not blind firing.
I think we (the AEC committee) should put together a training unit onClose Quarters Safety. There may be opportunities in the future that present themselves to provide more CQC events, and I for one would like to avoid incidents of ignorance leading to injury.
I like that idea DS.... Lets see what we can do.
