You guys missed a great event. I had a great time, its to bad they are going to be tearing this place down. I wonder how it survived paintball today.

I'll post more when I'm not so beat from my 2 days full of airsoft.

I copy TomE's comments, but I will say that I thought safety was a bit lacking... They did well, for having few reffs, but I think a couple more woulda been GREAT..... At least one on each floor. That last battle was a bit off-sided with the other team having a run into the objective, while we had a longer run, that involved going around a hard corner, into their line of fire in a "fatal funnel" before we could even try to get into the room.... Made for a lot of cussing!

We'd like to thank all of the players that came out for this event to have fun and help out a worthy cause. Being the last Asylum at this facility, we went over the player limit and ended up with 92 players at the event. Players from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota were in attendance and had a good time.

As with any event, there were some bumps, mainly the SRT team backed out at the last minute, but were replaced by their commander Sgt. Tierney, who gave each group a crash course in CQB tactics, rapid-deployment and room entry. Also the Forest Park PD had their hands full that day and were only able to get a few Patrol Officers to participate in the Felony stops, but the players themselves had a blast portraying Cops, blasting the sirens, using the loud speaker to instruct the perps, etc.

The MAA (Minnesota Airsoft Assoc.), WAA (Wisconsin Airsoft Assoc.) and Iowa Airsoft elected to play together, giving them an unusually large group of players in their squad, which kinda slowed them down and put a lot of people in the halls when they were in action, but overall, I think they enjoyed it the same.

The Final Battle was a little different and had some confusion, but the MAA, WAA and Iowa took on Illinois and Indiana players in a make-shift "Border Wars" to end out the day.

We would like to thank:
Breech- For helping us Ref the event
Refs- For getting blown away all day, watching others have fun
MAA/WAA/Iowa/Indiana Players for making the trek
Forest Park Police Department for making this possible.
