View Full Version : A few questions

I just had a couple questions.

The first one is about events. I want to get into a few in the area, but I don't have any equipment. All I have is a Well R6 M4A1 and extra mags (and ammunition of course). If I went to an event would there be BDUs, goggles ect. that I could use/rent or is it strictly BYO-Stuff? I might be able to get a hold of some equipment as my dad is an officer for the area I live in as he has that kind of stuff (including an M4 and G36C, which equals free attachments if I can get a hold of some compatible ones :D).

The second question is where can I buy metal (AKA Black) and orange flash guards for my airsoft rifle? I've looked everywhere online and I can't find any replacable ones. The reason I want these is because the gun I have has a quarter inch orange tip, with the rest black. I would definantly want a full orange one when in residential areas, as the quarter inch is difficult to see without pointing it at someone. I would then want the black one for when I want to shoot in remote or closed off areas, as blaze orange tends to attract unwanted attention in the middle of a conflict.

Any help would be great ;).

Let me start by saying Welcome from the WAA, Task Force Delta, and myself.

Take a peek at the FAQ section if you havent for a lot of "newb" questions and answers from experienced people's input. http://www.wiairsoft.com/forums/faq.php

Most places do not have rental gear available. Mostly its Buy your own stuff.

Easiet thing to do, its get some woodland camo stuff, since its dirt cheap, then get a tac vest or some older load bearing equipment.
If cost isnt an issue, buy MOLLE gear or whatever fits you best.

Far as the flash hider goes, i have a black and orange one for sale if youd like, but my question is-why do you need an orange one anyways? Before you answer, let me say playing or even producing a gun in a "public area" is a bad move.
Worst case, your gun is taken or you get shot by the police. There is no "best" scenario if you get in trouble using it in a public area or neighbohood.

Pretty much, a black flash hider is fine, since you should have it cased/bagged anywhere but IN your home(still up for debate) or ON the field.

Hope this helps. PM me if you are interested in the hider. Good luck out there sir!

Already read through the noob section, but thanks anyways ;).

As for equipment (and a sidearm), I'm going to have to buy/get a hold of stuff anyways. God I need more money :D.

The reason I want both is because the one I have defeats the purpose of either color. Mine is too orange to be hidden, but too black to easily see the orange. In any case I don't even have a completely black one. There's no way in sweet hell I'd use ANY weapon or replica in a public place anyways, but when I'm not in a scenario or something I'd rather be seen by someone with an orange one than a black one anyways. The only time I'd use a black one would be in simulated combat (or real combat, given zombies attack my house and I can't get a hold of any of the crapload of guns in my house except this one :P). Just call it a crappy attempt at a little more safety. Gotta practice/configure somehow out of field.

Thanks for the quick reply BTW :).

I'll ask the same question everyone is going to ask.... Outside of a airsoft game/senario why would you be brandishing your airsoft weapon?

I think Loofah's point was that you don't need to worry about having an orange tip on your gun since the only people who should be seeing the gun are those who you trust and thus shouldn't be threatened in anyway. I personally have removed the orange tip from both my AEG's and my pistol. I only use them at games and keep them cased unless I am working on them at home in my basement (no windows for the pesky neighbors to look into). Safety is important but the orange tip will be ignored by any officers who feel threatened in any way.

Yes TomE, you CANT see an orange tip from over 50-60ft anyways.

Yeah, good points. In any case, I still need a black tip :). Upon further reflection a orange tip does seem pretty pointless.
