Good game all. The weather could have been dryer, but that's spring.
All & all, good day. Hard to tell who was who & there was a LOT of friendly fire, but we got passed it...
Good to see you all!

It was great fun though the mud got quite deep after a while.... People lost a lot of mags and pistols there. My mom took some pictures today heres the link http://www.rabbitbreeder.net/wgf0407_p1.htm .

Yes, it was a good game, little muddy and wet but who cares, it added to the fun and added a challenge.
The scenario was great, especially when we charged the hotel in the end :D
My only beef was a lot of people were NOT calling hits, it was annoying but, heck, I still had a lot of fun, things will always happen but if you want to have fun (which is what this sport is about) you have to find a way around it...
Thanks Gary!

I had a good time. This was the first time I've gotten to play in about 4 months, and it was nice having such a large turnout. Thanks Gary for having us, it's always appreciated.

I had a great time as well. It was a pleasure getting to play and talk with some of you who are infamous on these boards. I did not personally experience any hit calling problems, though I did hear others talking about it. The big charges made by the NATO team were great, even though I was on the receiving end. I actually managed to run my battery out on my MP5 and had to use my pistol in the last game. I know what I am buying next!
I cannot wait to do it all again.

Nice turnout, good scenario. Thanks Gary for the use of the field and to all who showed up. Thank you to all who rolled with us throughout the day(nice to meet the caped crusader), it's always a pleasure DS, as well as the TR guys.

Thanks Gary for setting up the game and letting us use the field. It was a great "muddy" day with plenty of action and this was Jedi getting "stuck" in the mud while getting shot at. ;) Overall a great day... :)
Great game, even if the 7 guys I shot didn't call themselves out. If you want to see pictures, check out the ironcrosselite.com pictures page or pm me with your EMAIL ADDRESS. I got some great shots of the guys who went trekking through the swamp in the 3rd phase, and Cochesse took a good one of the duel after phase 4. Can't wait for the next game!

Yea, about the duel (mine, not the SAW one), sorry about hitting you there Freya, I didn't think the pistol would even go that far and I had to shoot very rapid, going against a GBB and sniper... lol... I think I got owned in that one :D

My only beef was a lot of people were NOT calling hits....
I share this beef, BIG TIME. I had at least 3 separate occasions where I was 100% POSITIVE my rounds were hitting my target, and they weren't calling. Specifically, in the first round, there were some guys in MARPAT at Fort J (Pink 2 room one SW corner of the main field) who were pinning down a group of us Hibolio dudes. A-Ron got hit, and wandered by me, and I swapped my P90 for his SAM-R (cuz I wanted to shoot like an Ub3R L337 SnIp0rZ!11!) I moved up to A-Ron's spotter, and lined up on the North window of the West wall of the fort. The MARPAT dude would peek, I'd pop, he'd wince and move back. Peek -- CRACK -- winceandduck -- Peek -- CRACK -- winceandduck... this went on for a minimun of 5 minutes. And with the scope A-Ron has on that gun I had NO PROBLEM WATCHING MY ROUNDS GO THRU THE WINDOW AND HIT MY TARGET. I yelled that the little white things weren't a freak hail storm, and that he actually was being hit, but the exchange continued. finally, A-Ron came back, I gave him his SAM back and told him to cover the window, and got 2 or 3 more guys to hose the spots where guys were popping their heads out. I sprinted (and by "sprint" I mean "old man slow jog") up to the fort, pistol in hand and got 3 quick BANG kills. I won't even go into the "BLIND BANG" that another guy got me with poking only his pistol around the corner and saying "Bang, dude, you're dead", because I let that slide when I was on the field.
I will give Gary credit on another occasion later in the day, when I was sure I was tagging somebody else. I called Gary over and asked him to wander over to my target. When he got there, I tagged the target again, and Gary called him out.
Other than that and the rain, it was a pretty good time! :D

I would have to agree with Downslide. There was quit a bit of not hit calling. I really only had 1 big one I was really pissed about. When I unloaded a 300 round High cap and a 203 grenade into this guys back and he still didn't call him self out. I finally ran up to him and shot him a good 20 more time from like 15 ft. away and he finally called himself out. (this was all in the first round) after that it started to get better. I am going to chock this one up to opening season excitement. Other then that I had a great time. Watching the Saw M4 duel at the end was great. Again thanks gary for the great time and hope to see most if not all of you out there for the game on the 21st.

This happened to 3 of ICE as well when we were in the tower in the far right corner of the field. We also let it slide, because at that point what do you do, shoot back from 3 feet away?
Oh, and don't worry Rattler, you didn't hit me, just flew one right past my nose. I tend to squeak when that happens :)

Yea, sorry about that bang... I though about it afterwards and it was poorly executed, but I was aiming where my gun was pointed. I wouldn't have tagged Vig the way it was done, but I'm glad it was cleared up quickly. Afterwards I asked Vigilante about it to try and get both sides and talk about it and he just walked away.

I though the game was a lot of fun. All in all. With the exclusion of the last game we had and some young player with a paintball mask. You know who you are. Was behind a white crate and refused to call him self out Even though there was 5-6 guys laying into him with rounds. And it wasn’t like there was really a distance issue. Seeing there was only about 25-30ft apart. But all was taken care of when Gary was called over, But other then that It was a lot of fun. Got to love the march threw the swamp land. Hey Ice and Toxic it was fun playing with you guys and girls.

Apology accepted as far as I'm concerned. It was a hard corner to get around.

Great game, albeit a little muddy.
Can't wait for the 21st.
My suggestion for if folks aren't calling their hits:
1. Go grab an OC (as was done by grabbing Gary's attention) and have them keep an eye on the possible offender.
2. Whip out you kill rag, and approach the person yourself. Now don't be an asshat like I tend to be, but approach them in a civil manner and tell talk it over with them.
3. Along the lines of #2, have somebody else put on a kill rag and watch the person closely. They will be less apt to cheat if they know they are being closely watched.
All in all, if a person cheats, they will earn themselves a bad name in the community. If it happens enough, I am willing to bet that the person will lose their invitation to play at fields.
As for a blind bang kill, that's a major safety issue, so I hope that you took it up with Gary or one of the safety committee personnel promptly after it happened rather than letting it go unchecked until today.
Please don't take my comments as a reflection upon the field, Gary or the event organizer. It was in no way meant to be a slight on anybody, just merely a tip of advice.

I had a great time, my first official game with ICE. I had a lot of problems wit blind firing(thanks to Cochesse for waxing that guy) and not calling hits. Gary was on top of his OC game, props to him for getting around the field as much as he could.Overall a great game, glad to see Toxic 6 again and to meet new people. Can't wait for the next game!

As far as people not calling their hits, this is what I have to say:
ITS OK TO GET HIT.
I know we are all being competitive out there on the field, and at times maybe adrenaline prohibits us from feeling a hit. Heck, most of the times when I get hit in my gear I can't feel it, but I know what it sounds like, and I call myself out. I know the last thing you want to do is leave the battlefield and let your team get overrun, mowed down, owned, whatever, but we need to realize that this is an honor sport. If we take away that aspect, we might as well just stand in lines and shoot each other until we can't take it anymore.
Another thing is sometimes people say that ricochets and friendly fire doesn't count. I've got news for you people, they do. If you catch a stray round bouncing off a wall in real life, you're just as screwed. Same goes for getting shot by your own team. The ammunition has no bias, so getting hit by a bb, is getting hit by a bb. Period.
That being said, people need to call their hits. I can't tell you how many times I've been having a great time playing, a huge bitch-fest insues over someone not calling a hit, the main focus is diverted from the game to people's disagreements, and the game goes down the crapper.
As I close my rant I ask a very simple request. BE HONEST. If you're hit, call yourself out, there's no shame in it. Calling your hits makes for a better experience and you leave a good impression of yourself on other people instead of the opposite.
cues Maple to add to rant
Actually, I have no rant for this one.
I made my suggestions, and that's all I got........
-okay, mini psuedo rant-
There are Ligers at every field, and it's up to all of us to try and correct them. If you aren't willing to do it in a civil manner, then contact an OC to take care of it for you.
From the sounds of it, Gary was informed of the situation and approached the people in question. Hopefully his action will prevent them from doing this again.
If not, then it is up to the folks playing at the game to inform him the next time it happens, so he can approach the players again.
Sooner or later, they will learn, or they will not find themselves welcomed to future events.
Well, I guess that really wasn't a rant after all.
Seeing as to how most of the bad has already been said... I had fun. In all honesty I have not been able to go out ot a game like that in quite some time, and just have fun.
Yeah the setbacks that were listed sucked, but in the end most were rectified or fixed partially to allow smoother game play.
It was good to see some new faces, and of course good to see the old comrades of the sport.
Thank you Gary for hosting the game, and hopefully it will be a little dryer next time, lol.
Until next time, take care.

As for a blind bang kill, that's a major safety issue, so I hope that you took it up with Gary or one of the safety committee personnel promptly after it happened rather than letting it go unchecked until today.
The gentleman in question used the arguement "Dude, I didn't pull the trigger, so I wasn't actually 'Blind Firing'..." I was already hot at the guy in the fort not calling (which was why I ran in there in the first place) and decided it wasn't worth going after and decided to calm down instead.
I guess my biggest problem with it follows one of the principle parts of the "Bang Kill" -- not the safety part of not firing, which he did follow -- but the part about needing to actually have a weapon pointing at your target when you do it. The guy I bang-killed thru the window saw me, and saw my side arm aimed right at him thru the window, no question. The guy who poked his gun around the corner would have "shot" straight along the wall, and would have totally missed me, because I was at least 3 feet away from the wall. I was West of him, and his gun was pointed West, that's the only way you can describe his gun being pointed in my direction, let alone actually AT ME. Part of the "Bang Kill" principle is that you actually SEE your target, which he could not. I could just as easily have been IN the fort, pointing my gun AT THE WALL he was on the other side of and yelled "BANG, dude I got you thru the wall", I mean, a 9mm would go thru the plywood, right?

I didnt really have a problem with people not calling hits, probably because they knew i saw them get hit. I usually only have a problem with it when i spray 10 or so BB's into a window right as some guy sticks his hand out and he gets 5 welts in his hand, then his anger makes him not call the hit cause he wants to get me out. I am glad that when i use my spring pistol people call the hits honorably :).
awsome game the mud was realy fun not to many problems with people and hits thanks gary
Hey guys, lat time I will pipe in (probably not):
I hope you all brought up these issues at the game, whether it be to Gary or to one of the safety commitee. The only way that Gary (and safety crew) can improve games and make them safer/ more fun, is if you step up and say something at the game.
I know, this is an odd departure from my normal bash tactics, but for real, you gotta do something while at the game.
