What: Op: Trick-or-Treat

Where: Dragons' Lair / Fort Atkinson

When: October 16th / 10am - ?

Rules: Full seal goggles or wire mesh allowed. 15 to 18 requires waiver to be signed by both parents. 18 and over must sign waiver prior to playing.

Dragons' Lair Waiver: http://dragon-lair.net/waiver.htm

Hit Rules: when hit call "Hit", sit down and place kill rag on head. once entire team is hit team leader will hand over one piece of candy to "winning" team. "Hit" team will then stand up with kill rags on head, close their eyes, and count to 30 out loud. Once the team gets to 30 they resume the game. If you come accross a hit team, you cannot camp out and wait for them to get to 30. Proceed past them. Camping out will result in losing a piece of candy to the "Hit" team. Teams that lose all their candy will return to the safe area and participate in sub-games.

Game: Premise is similar to capture the flag but instead of the flag there is candy. There will be five stations set up on the field. At each station there is a different type of candy. Each team will have to make it to each point, get a piece of candy and move on to the next point. At any point of the game, you can wait for another team to come by and ambush them to get their candy. The team at the end of the game with the most candy wins their candy and 50% of every other team's. Teams will be required to bring a Trick-or-Treat candy pail to carry with them on the field. Each team will act independently. If a number of independent players attend they will be grouped into one or two teams.

Special: Costumes or masks are encouraged.

Viper
28 Sep 05, 10:35 AM
Yes uniforms could be considered "costumes". I remember a number of years where I dressed up in Camo and ran around pretending to be in the.......Yeah, let's stay away from that.

Costumes outside of camo would be fun just for the fact that we are playing "Gung ho Trick or Treating". With Airsoft guns, and fighting over candy...brings back so many good memories. ;)

Vanac,
If your going to show up and just cause problems, don't even post. I'm a little disappointed in you.

Others,
This game is suppose to be a little fun prior to halloween. I'm kind of happy a few people are taking advantage of the "Costume" clause. Should be interesting on game day. Keep those ideas coming. On another note, I'm kind of iffy on the whole "Teletubby" discussion. :o

If I end up going I'm showing up in a french maid's outfit <3.
Sooooooo we might or might not show up...file the neenah kids (gdan, bear, archos) under possible. Hoh hohh.

Professor
05 Oct 05, 03:20 AM
Alright, how many people are wearing costumes...other than "uniforms"? Haven't heard anything from the Dragons about costumes....

Dark Knight

Professor

Viper
05 Oct 05, 12:32 PM
Glad to see the possability of TFD showing, would be good to see you guys. French maid outfit, might be a bit nippley on the 16th. :D

DK,
Johnny English would be a good idea, can you do Mr. Bean as 007 ?

Prof,
I'm considering my options for costumes, I'm thinking a Star Wars Clone Trooper, which will make me as plain of a target as possible. Ah for the love of Star Wars. ;)

Prof,
I'm considering my options for costumes, I'm thinking a Star Wars Clone Trooper, which will make me as plain of a target as possible. Ah for the love of Star Wars. ;)that would kick ass! i have an old M&M costume...which would not kick so much ass, and i'd be an even bigger target.

of course i still don't know if i can go yet.... :(

Just think though, if you show up as an M&M, your team can use you as a shield. For some reason I have a feeling Maple and Razor are somewhere smiling about that idea.

Its a shame i cant really go. The pictures of a French Maid, Austin Powers, or an M&M holding weaponry would kick ass. dammit. sounds like a lot of fun. I will definetly want to do something like this again next year, and make a costume for it! :D

Professor
06 Oct 05, 03:44 AM
Yeah, where's tha Col? This sounds like just the event for tha Maple...I'm sure he has some costumes layin around that'll scare tha heck out ya!!!!! :o

Come on Col, ya gotta make this one...pink leotards, yeah, that's the ticket!

Timmay, if it's a ride you need let me know...that is if it's not that ya gotta work. I'm sure you got a costume worth seeing!

Professor
10 Oct 05, 04:26 PM
Okay, I've given this a lot of thought and I just gotta say it...I'm way too serious and I take my airsofting in the same manner. I'd really prefer if we didn't run around in costumes other than uniforms please.

I know, all of you are calling me a "party pooper", but I'm sorry...this is a a military simulation sport. I just can't see running around shooting at Storm Troopers or such. I was actually a little bent by the guys at BHD who showed up in a top hat, etc...yeah sorry Ska-king, but that's just my opinion.

If I'm off base tell me and you guys can have your fun...I'll catch you another time. If you agree...then tell me. Something tells me I wouldn't have seen DK wearing leotards or dressing like a beanie baby.

I guess I'm becoming a MilSim biggot....my wife would call me a "fuddy-duddy".

Maple will try to see if he can play for awhile this weekend. I am still a little dizzy from the blow to the head I took last weekend. If I may add, the next time somebody tells you that your shoe is untied, take a quick peek down. They may actually be telling you the truth and not trying to trick you.

Prof,
The fact of the matter is, costumes are "Optional". From the looks of things, not too many people are too serious about wearing a costume. But, if that is what they want to do, more power to them. Adds to the game. This game was set up purely on the concept of some Halloween fun, not Milsim. Yes, we have airsoft weapons, and we are using some tactics, but you give me one Milsim game that involves Halloween and candy as the objective, and I'll agree that this game is Milsim. It's a little late in the game to want it changed now, everyone who has geared up for this game, wether they want to "Costume-up" or not has already done what they needed to for the game. I would like you to make it to the game Prof, but if "I (You) just can't see running around shooting at Storm Troopers or such", I am sorry, but that is the premise of the game and I guess I'll see you next time.

For the rest that are coming, thank you and I look forward to seeing you on the 16th.

Capt...I didn't mean to offend you by any means. So, if you are, it was not my intent.

As you may have noticed, from my very first post, I was a little hesitant about the costumes element as I said "aren't our uniforms costume enough?". I have swayed back and forth between telling myself "ah go ahead, lighten up" and "geeze I'm how old and playing airsoft at my age, now I'm thinking of wearing a costume and doing so?".

This has a lot more to do with me and not a comment about you or your event. The thread on the board about MILSIM made me more aware of my desire to play more in that fashion than what some other events are turning out to be. I'm just struggling with my age and playing "wargaming" and questions about "growing up" one day I guess...who knows.

Again, if I offended you I apologize.

Prof,
I wasn't offended, and I don't hold any ill will towards you. I consider you a good friend and wouldn't allow something like this jepordize our friendship. I will not be able to get an additional costume for this game just because of the lack of fundage. You only live once and you should enjoy as much of your life as possible. ;) If it wasn't for you making contact with me and inviting us down to join you guys at the lair, there wouldn't be MERT today. :)

DK,
Can't wait to see it. Make sure you have your camera handy, I have a feeling there will be a number of unique picture opportunities. ;)

Sorry I didn't post sooner, but I got home took care of unpacking, grabbed something to eat and passed out. :D Yes, it was a real blast. Who would think that getting candy could be so much fun. Thanks again for all the hospitality. You guys put a lot of work into making the game a truly enjoyable experience. As for the pumpkins, maybe we can come down after Halloween and just have some fun with them. :D
