Thats an ok gun but if want somthin amazing check out the cyma cm031 or cm028s i have the cm031 and love it. Also the cm031 also is called the utg warhawk revoultionary ak74 and the cm028s is the same as the utg paratrooper ak47. If you are dead set on mp5 checkout the galaxy mp5 pdw or the jg/gb mp5's.:D :D

First of all mp5dude, welcome to the WAA forums.:) Second, from your profile it says your birthday is tomorrow, so my question is, why not save up the money you might get for your birthday, plus the money you had for your UTG (unless you already ordered it) and get a Marui, CA, etc? You'll be better off in the long run. As for pistols, get a green gas. Spring have limited power, and CO2 are (unreliable in my experience) and a little OVER powered (just ask T-Square:cry: ). Green gas is the way to go.

Wow that a chunk! Depending on the size of your hands, the Hicapa from MARUI is a dream of a sidearm.
Ive heard the 1911A1 from MARUI is very comparable, and for smaller or average hands, its very comfy.
The P226 is nice also, though a bit plasticy. Great performance though.
KSC/KWA Rocks. very durable. not as "nice" as a marui, but they take a lot of punishment with minor upkeep. The USP/M9/Most glocks from they are very good.
stay away from the cheap stuff, you WONT be sorry. C02 is garbage, and a spring isnt worth the time.
ALSO-The Marui AEP(like a mini gearboxed pistol) Rules!, All year round useable, and full auto without wearing out like a GBB. Very nice guns! mags are cheap so are batteries.

I would almost recommend that you take some of the money you have for the GGB, and put it towards a better MP5. I have torn apart my UTG MANY times, and gutted the internals, and its barely a decent gun.
You would be MUCH happier with a Classic Army B&T MP5, like this MP5A4 (http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=364_68&products_id=1874), or this MP5SD5 (http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=364_68&products_id=1872). They also have the slither-stock versions available, as well as the SEF trigger group. The quality of gun is MUCH higher, and well worth the extra cash up front.

then get them to give you a gift card or something INSTEAD. The C/A is a much better buy and will last much longer than the UTG.

I know a guy (who knows a guy who knows a guy lol) that bought a UTG MP5, stripped the guts, and added systemma and TM parts to make the UTG a kick arse gun...so, if you are good w/ your hands and like to take things appart, you might be okay w/ the UTG if you are willing to upgrade most of the internals.
If you want a gun that you will very rarely have to take appart, then go w/ a C/A or a TM.

sniper-aabYou thinking of Rattler, right? I don't believe that he is a real gunsmith and would cost you just has much for you to buy a Tm than go through all the upgrading work. You are far better off getting a TM.

Well, if he is getting a UTG no matter what...as a gift...that is what he could do.
If you don't want to do the upgrades yourself, shoot any of the "smiths" on this forum a PM...I'm sure they would be glad to do your upgrades for a reasonable price...some that come to mind:

I had a UTG that I threw in $50 in upgrades just for fun and it outshot TM's with ease. All you need is a new gear set, metal bushings and a new spring. Later down the line if you go above 350fps it would be good to put in a new piston set and gearbox shell, but that is only if you go more than 350 fps.

I have had the TM mp5A5 for 2 years now. I ran it stock for several months till I could afford some ugrades. It's now sporting a 120 spring with metal bushings, and metal spring guide, about 50 dollars worth of parts. I got the parts and the gun through The War Game Room over a year ago, and did all the upgrading myself. Yes, it's that easy. I use this AEG 6-10 games a year, and hasn't failed me yet. Anyone that knows my style of play, knows I go through alot of bbs.
Downslide is right, the TM is a nice AEG. It has a Ver. 2 gearbox that handles minor upgrades. If you want a really nice AEG, try the CA. It too comes with a Ver 2 gearbox, but it's reinforced. It comes with a metal body with full trademarks, metal bushings, heavier gears, and slightly stronger spring, about 310fps.
Good luck, and welcome to the sport of airsoft. Hope to see you at a game soon.

Well personally, I don't like ICS, but AE is good in my experience.
BTW, where did you order it from, if it's overseas, it's going to take awhile to get to you.

Airsoft elite is really no different than ICS. that was a good marketing ploy is all.

I believe they give them a good look-over though, just to make sure there isn't anything to obvious wrong with them.
AE are imported ICS with a few "modifications" done to them. New metal bushings (if not installed) and sometimes a power boost. Or so thats the last I've heard of it.

The Wargame Room in West Allis, WI (Mil. area) has them / the ability to get them as well.

I recommend giving Gary at the Wargame Room a call. I bought two guns from him so far, and both are great. There's nothing like having an actual store to go to and a person who will stand behind the products he sells.

Thanks for checking out my store. I would be glad to sell you any gun mentioned and most are in stock. We also stand behind every gun we sell with a full warranty. We repair and upgrade in our eau claire shop as well. On the other hand if you do not work on guns yourself and you still are not sure which model mp5, would suit you best then a trip to the local airsoft store (garys war game room for you) Will allow you the chance to ask these questions and handle the various models yourself. BTW happy B-Day take some of that huge stack of cash and buy a gun case for your new AEG.

buy a gun case for your new AEG.
Absoutely. A nice (simple) hard case shouldn't run more than $20

My recommendation, being an mp5 user myself, is that you save your money for a CA or TM. UTG out of the box may perform similarly to its more expensive counter-parts from CA and TM, but in the long run, it will prove far less durable. Believe me, after playing airsoft for over 5 years, spending a few extra dollars for a well made gun is worth every cent. To be honest, you will seldom use your sidearm, and considering your relatively new to the scene, I suggest you invest what you can into your primary weapon and worry about a GBB later.
You should consider checking the Buy/sell section of the forums, used TMs and CAs are still great. I would compare them to foreign-made cars, if you treat em well, they'll last you a very long time.
If i think of anything else ill add it later.
