Hello there. I was born, raised, and lived in Stevens Point until I joined the Navy in 1995. Got out in August 2005 and moved to Arizona.

I got into airsoft about 6 months ago and have had a good time. Three months ago I started looking into moving back home to WI, so I wanted to see what the airsoft scene looked like back in the frozen tundra which led me to these forums.

Still looking to move, though I have to find a job there first, which isn't easy from a few thousand miles away, so who know when/if that'll happen.

But anyway, just wanted to post a message to say "what's up?", and to let you know who I am, so you don't think "wtf is this guy?" if I ever post around here.

Welcome, Its cold up here, darn cold, but we still play whilst it is cold. (I shouldn't talk, my last game was in December). We are an active bunch. Hope to see you move up here so we can trade bbs at 300+ FPS

That's the good thing about AZ. It's decent enough in the winter to comfortably airball without being too cold. In the hot part of the summer we just go up in the mountains where it's usually about 20+ degrees cooler. We also have desert terrain (obviously) and forest terrain 2 hours to the north.

Even with that, I'd rather be in WI.

If you'll be moving back to Central WI, GOPMAT would be glad to have another player join us for some games. It's a little bit of a drive (Wausau) but less of one than the Madison/Milwaukee area.

**looks outside and just shivers at the thermometer frozen stuck at -20 degrees** Why exactly are you coming back?? lol, just kidding. GOPMAT is a great team and they have good players and a good field. If you are in that area I would most reccomend them.

Welcome back!

Thanks for the replies.

I want to move back because it's home. It's tough to explain, but when you move away for over a decade, and only visit a handful of times, even with the crappy cold weather, you just end up missing it.

But like I said, I'm hoping to move. I have to have a job waiting first before I go, and that's a tough thing to do from so far away.

Anyway, thanks for the forum hospitality...

I thought I was the chairsofter rep . . . :duck:

Welcome, welcome, welcome. Hope to pretend to have gone to a game with you soon! ;)

EDIT: I don't presume your handle came from a Steven Seagal movie, by any chance . . .

EDIT: I don't presume your handle came from a Steven Seagal movie, by any chance . . .No. Nico is short for Nicodemus, who was a character from "Secrets of Nihm". It also means "Victory of the People", which is kind of cool.

When I bought BF2 I had to think of a screen name. The first dozen or so were unavailable, which led me to remember Nicodemus, and then the shortened form of Nico.

In online communities you become known by your screen name, and I figured Nico sounds better than my normal forum name of djmtott. It gets kind of confusing at Airsoft Arizona games with an abnormal name that people can't pronounce quickly, don't understand, or try to shorten on you.

But no, even though Steven Seagal is the man (or was before he went enviro-mental) my screen name has nothing to do with him or his movies.

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH was a good book, the movie was good too.

Above the Law is one of my favorite Seagal movies, is all.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from with the screename thing, I've had quite a few, and I only use this one for Airsoft.
