very good game, had lots of fun, thanks to everyone who came and making this our best turnout. We had fun using the APC (enclosed pickup truck), nepalm and smoke bombs, then later in the day we had some "missles" and artillery whissing about 75 feet off the ground and ending with the nice loud bang.
Navy SEALS did thier job and ANHIALATED the Al Quaeda in an hour ending the scenario, we then did border crossing with a bomb and civil war and lastly a "deathmatch" or, every man for himself.
Pics and Video's coming soon
How much people attended?
around 20, don't have an exact.
Thanks Rattler's parents/family for letting us use the field and Rattler/ Sniperabb for setting up a great game. For being the 4th game I've played at Rattler's this was the best. ;) The APC, nepalm, fireworks and smoke bombs brought the game to the next level but... I've learned the gasoline in the nepalm can't start a hand I fire easly (I'm ok ;) )...ha...ha..... :imstupid:

Sorry, you are right. I was seeing the origional game thread pop up a couple times and did it on a whim.
My bad.

Here is one of the working video's of the game, more will be up soon. In this one we were working down the road on the edge of the village to extraction, we were using an "APC" or so to speak. We were allowed 1-2 respawns off the APC to be as if you were wounded, then you would have to respawn back in the village. We (SEAL's) eventually got through the worst of the resistance and set up a perimeter inside the woods on the road leading to extraction but the enemy was cutting us off to the rear, we rushed them and eliminated the enemy clearing the road for extraction. SEAL's sucseeded in beating the Al Quadea and we rescued the hostage and the intel.
Enjoy!

My friends, sister, and I had a decent time, although I think we had the most fun taking pictures at the end. Haha. The day was a bit confusing overall, but still a good time - save for all my batteries dying in the cold. Thanks, Rattler. It was a relaxed and fun start to the year for me.
One comment I'd suggest, though, after watching the video and your associated post: Make clear the respawn rules to both sides and ensure that they are balanced. In that mission on tape, we didn't know the vehicle was in play and definitely didn't know it was a respawn point. If any of us had known, my friend and I would have pushed for a more aggressive tactic earlier on.
The border crossing battle was fun, but slightly marred by the fact that we, as the attackers, really had no idea where we were going after the bomb was placed. I left the field to get my shotgun (after yet another gun failure) and when I returned I heard that we had lost. None of the three "teammates" I had brought knew where they were supposed to go and basically just played to shoot the opposition. As the aggressors we should have known exactly what the mission was before the start.
Hopefully these points will help your February event run smoothly and without confusion on any side.
Those were my only two comments that needed to be aired out after talking with everyone on the ride back. They had fun and nobody got sick. Overall, it was still a good time. I hope to find some time to make the February game, should the weather stay warm enough to keep my guns running. Haha.
Thanks again.

Thank you for your input jun wen,
lol, yes there was a lot of confusion with the spawns which was my fault but we have it worked out and will never have the problem again. For the mil-sim event in Feburary the spawns are already designated and will be on a special, event only map of the field. I also had quite a bit of battery trouble along with 2 or 3 other people in the team, lol. At the next battle we will have even more open chargers for people to go on between the sessions.
Other than the spawning, we had old man winter pay us a little visit towards the end, we got a light dusting of snow which for some added a great effect.
Thanks,
Rattler

I noticed in the video that someone took off their goggles a couple times while in a firefight. That's really dangerous, and you can easily lose an eye. At Apoc last summer a kid got pegged in the eye when he took his goggles off to defog.

Setting up a perimeter around the village, if you look closely you can see the small cloud of black smoke, this is a downed US chopper, it went down in the beginning of the operation and added a few extra ties into the scenario.

Thank you for pointing this out, however I was the one who actually did this, I only took them off 1 time (to defog) and when I did I was covered (facially), the other times I just stuck my fingers under them to wipe off the insides, the little effect that that had :D , I was stupid when I did so and put my own health at risk. On the lighter note, our field staff kept everyone in good health and a good eye on things, no injuries at all and everyone had a good time.
Thanks
Rattler
