Hello, my name is Jody(im a male) and i am turning 15 in January. I just got an automatic rifle for Xmas and im hoping to play with it this spring, I've been reading over the site for a while now and been saving up money to buy the right gear to play. I live in McFarland and my biggest feature is that im small/short and im fast. I have a 312 FPS pistol aswell as my 350 full/semi auto rifle that i got for Xmas. I might buy a sniper rifle if i really get into this stuff. I have been wating to join for about 1 month now and my mom has been trying to get me to read things to join and stuff, which I think I will. I am brand new to airsoft, I got my first gun(my pistol) about 1 month ago and eversince ive been dying to do more than hit a peice of cardboard with it.

Sorry for the long post, i have plenty more to say if you wish...

Welcome to the forums, hope to see you out on the field sometime soon!!!

Not to rain on your parade, but don't buy one, while sometimes being extremely important, more that often then not they aren't. They can be expensive, wind, trees and tree branches are some of the limitations. You have a AEG and a pistol, which is plenty good for now. The money you have saved up, keep saving!

Quick question (BTW this is not a stab at Sharpshooter nor anyone else)...why do all the noobs want sniper rifles? Am I right, or am I right?

All of my friends wanted to be snipers, so I took each and every one of them, gave them a long range springer and I took the AEG and we went 1v1, I kicked their asses so bad, not 1 of them now owns a sniper, all AEG's.

Yes, you have a good setup, just use the money to make your AEG a long range assault rifle and you will be set good.

This is what Maple said...

Can someone tell me why all the new players want to be snipers?

=S I never got it. Because the idea is much more glamorous then the reality.
One shot, one kill sounds mighty cool, but once most new players hit the field and realize that sniping in airsoft is a very hard thing to get good at, then you see them buy an aeg of some sort.
If anything, helps the resale business.

Be sure to participate in the next AEC that is run. They are extremely informative, fun, and well run. You'll learn a lot about airsoft, as well as meet some new people you're sure to play with in the future.

Also, look into some of the teams posted on this site. If you find one that's cose to you, check it out and maybe join them during a practice or something. In my experience, playing with a well organized team trumps the Rambo approach anyday.

Welcome, Can't wait to trade bbs with you.

As far as a team goes. Get around to a few games and get a feeling for what each team is about. Introduce yourself to as many people as you can. If you are good someone will notice and may get invited to join a team. There is no reason for you to join a team right away. But Chief is right its fun to have a bunch of guys who know what they are doing (*cough*) helping you figure out what to do.

Again Welcome, Hope to see you around.

Quick question (BTW this is not a stab at Sharpshooter nor anyone else)...why do all the noobs want sniper rifles? Am I right, or am I right?

Hah at first i really badly wanted a sniper...but i figured all the obstacles would not allow me to hit very often so i got a pistol instead and worked my way up to the AEG. Also i have another question on the http://www.hobbytron.com/AirsoftAssaultRifleGunAEGPA47389B6.html the scope is REALLY bad...its not even a scope...just a peice of glass. There is 2 little holes in front of it which i think i can attach something to...possible a laser dot or something. Can anyone help me?

What holes are you talking about?

What holes are you talking about?

Screw holes probably, because most of the lower-end guns have screw holes to put something on.

What holes are you talking about?

If you look closely there is 2 holes on the black handle...in front of the scope. I think you can attack things there...maybe a scope mount and put a scope on that.
