Agent, may I use some of these pictures on my teams website? I never got any pictures from the game in May and would like to put them up on our photo section.

One minor side note from me, that Kerrick reminds me of.

Any pictures you post online:
If they are not tagged, there by become public pictures, and are usable by anyone.

Thats the assumption I've come to realize, and why I tag all of mine.
Takes time, but if you want the credit for them, thats what ya' do.

Granted, they are not works of masterpieces, but just something to know.

yes but still it is at least a curtious thing to do to the person, weather you can or cant do it without asking.... and ethics says you should do it.

Ethics and the Internet. Short book... one blank page.

Yes but people will look up to and respect you if you are 1 in 100 who is curtious, it will also give you a good name to all who see it, shows that you are an honest person not trying to rip people off. It is a shame that nobody uses ethics, but who says we dont have to because nobody else does, dont you agree? be the "outstanding one".

I've got a quick question (this is mostly out of curiosity)...

What happens when someone takes pictures at a game when they are not supposed to, but then stamps a copyright on them? For instance, only certain entities were allowed to take pictures at CPX with permission. If someone took pictures without permission, and posted a copyright, could they really have a problem with someone using those pictures if they weren't supposed to have them in the first place? Also, if the pictures are not being used for profit/sales/marketing and are soley for non-profit use, does permission need to be given?

The reason is because there are some pictures from long ago where I can't seem to find out an answer if they can or can't be used... so I am curious about how the whole permission thing works.

First would be to take a look at the waiver that you signed when you came to play. If there is a stipulation on images and pictures and video being solely owned by the venue, then...

but, if they didnt, then it gets grey.

You can copyright anything that you take, but if that is a picture of something that is a trademark and you dont give credit to the owner of that trademark... That could be a problem... But, it is like taking a picture of the skyline of Chicago, you dont give credit to the landmarks even if they have the copyrighted logo on the top of the buildings. So, it is really grey.
