well for one its not size, its weight. And with a heavier bb, ur gona get more accuracy but alittle less range. And ur gona be able to pound thro more brush with a heavier bb.

I see, cool thanks
Well let me start by saying youy should NEVER use .12 in an AEG.
The difference in bb weights are this...The lighter the bb the higher the velocity, and longer range you'll get, but the less acurate they'll be.
Heavier bbs hold thier tragetory better than lighter ones. Heavier bbs also hit harder, penatrate foiliage better, and are less effected by wind, etc.
Personally, all I shoot is .25's. (Except for chroning then I use .20s) For me the small sacrifice in range is worth the gain in accuracy & foiliage penetration.
The velocity difference between bb weights goes like this. For evey .01 gram of bb weight you add (or subtract) you gain (or loose) aprox. 10 fps.
So a gun that shoots 350 w/.20 will shoot 320 w/.23, & 300 with .25
Something more important than bb weight is bb quality. A lot of people (especially new players) tend to buy the cheapest bbs they can get thier hands on. I highly advise agaist this. Spend the extra money on quality bbs. You're gun will function better & longer than if you go with the cheapest crap bbs you can find. If you have a tightbore barrel it's even more important to use high quality bbs.
I can't tell you how many guns I've worked on that the owner blew up by using cheap bbs. They get jammed in the barrel, the shooter tries to shoot the jam out, the back preassure in the chamber causes the gears &/or piston to strip out.
Hope that helps.

Boy, Anybody know all of the bb weights?
I know..
.11 = The new AEG proof paintball ones.
.12 = Lpeg, Ebb, low end springers.
.15 = Don't remember where, but they exist.
.20 = "Chrono" bb. Very Very Very common.
.22 = By WA!
.23 = Maruzen makes these, I know Excell does.
.25 = Another common one..
.28 = By... Stealth? Or.. Phh, forgot.
.29 = SGMs, GMs, and the stealth SGM wanna-be.
.30 = Marushin makes these? another "sniper" bb.
.34 = Most 8mm and a couple 6mm's out there in this.
.35 = 8mm, all I've seen.
.36 = "sniper" bb.
.43 = Aluminum coated, but bearly lighter than, Straight?
.44 = Another Aluminum coated. Straight?
.45 = 8mm.
.88 = Steel, not fun, Probably don't want to use these!
Manufacturers:
Marui
Excell
SIIS
Marushin
Maruzen
Airsoft Elite
KSC
Tsunami
Straight
Gaurder
Toy-Tec
Viper
Fusion
Inertia
G&P
Ult. Bio
W.A.
Stealth
Bioval- Are they independant?
Crossman- (low end)
Flying colors- (Well, Overpriced to say the least!)
HFC \ ______
UHC / ^ no trust.
"No-name" bbs.... (usually .12)
"Generic" (.12 and .20s)
Think thats all of 'em, Tell me if I missed anything.
The .29 SGMs are considered, by many, including myself, the highest quality bb in the world.. with the GM right behind...
SGM = Super Grandmaster. ($15 per 500)
Gm = Grandmaster ($10-12 per 500)
-Jack..
G&G also makes there own bbs.
The .43's made by Staight are graphite coated, not alluminum coated.
There are also .30 (and I believe other weights) of solid aluminum.
Most .15's are China made crap.
The ".11 = new AEG proof paintball ones" are FAR from AEG proof.

Well, It was a Noble attempt..
Missed 1 manufacturer, and messed up some materials.. Oh well, Can't memorize everything..
The .15s? Crap? Uh... I'll just take your word for it..
.11s? I'm pretty sure they put a Hicap through an Mpk5, VN, and one other.. Stock aegs ofcorse. Then again, why would you want such a light weight anyway?

whats does .12 gram bbs do to your gun
To the best of my knowledge, lightweight bbs can potentially crack in your gun, leading to the possiblity of having plastic ripping apart the internals of your AEG.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Just dont be cheap. I know its REALLLLLLY hard to do, but buy at least GOOD quality .20's+. Light might not be the factor Maple, but its the fact you can buy a frigging rice bag full of .12's for 50 bucks. QUALITY is a factor.
One misshaped BB(NOBODY inspects that close EVERY bag, if you do, go get laid) and it can jam in your gun, screw up the air nozzle, in turn the tappet plate and possible a LOT more. Either way, you just cost yourself WAY more than what you SAVED on JUNK balls in a paper bag.
Yeah even if you had really good quality .12s, they would be terribly innacurate. I find .20s to be too wonky in the wind, and .12s are almost half the weight...

You can't.
Anything that cheap is going to be good. (Unless you can find 'em on sale someplace.)
The best you'll probley do is $15 for 4000.

Lol, I suppose I'll have to try them before I condone them.
I have shot .25 though, which are closer to the .29 then the .36 I use now, and you can't hit jack firing at the longer ranges.

plus, its a bad for those players that wear wiremesh.. Too much of a possibility to shatter on impact and could go right into the eyes..
its not really if your a sniper using .2 or .25g bbs.. its how strong your gun is shooting that should determine what weight bb you are using. for sniper weapons.
Power edge usa sells 4000 KSC .20g bbs for 9 dollars. Shipping is probably like 5-7.

http://www.poweredgeusa.com/product.asp?CategoryID=114&ID=2295 shipping is unfortunately closer to the $20 range (it was $20.40 for me when I added jus that bag of BBs to my shopping cart). Poweredge has great prices, and i've been very happy with their service, but their shipping has a very high "initial buy-in price". i don't know if that's a base handling charge, or just due to the fact they're located in Hawaii.
The Wargame Room sells .2 in AE for 19.99, .25 AE and KSC for 18.99.
These are also available at the fielding during any Airsoft Game.
