I have done this before (Playing at an indoor paintball joint.) The only issue is it is very slippery and you get paint on EVErYTHing. But it's fun besides that.

where exactly is the field?
There is a link to the site posted. The location is posted on the site.
There will likely be an attendance limit of 35-40 players for this event. I will post more details as they come in.

Any Idea on price? (i didn't see anything about it). And since this is the same place as Nostromo, will they require bio-bbs again, as well as full face protection?
Its indoors. Is there really going to be a problem with them bio-degrading, honestly (towards the game creator).
I think that with CQC would be the place to allow non "bio" bbs.
There is no tentative date selected for this, but it will likely be on a Sunday in January. The CQB facility is not at the same place as the Nostromo game. This event will be held at a facility in Osseo, WI. As this is an indoor facility, Bio BBs are not required.
Depending on the turnout for this game, the organizers have hinted at this facility being made available for us on a more regular weekend basis.
Further details are still in development, so I will update this thread when I get that information.

IS there any fps requirements for CQB?
OK. Official date for this event is Sunday, January 14th at Battlefield Paintball's CQB Facility in Osseo, WI. This event has an attendance max of 35 players with only 25 able to shoot and 10 required to rotate in and out as Civilians, Hostages, etc. Guns must chrono under 350fps with .2 gram - no exceptions.
Safety & Velocity Concerns
I had considered speaking with both event organizers to restrict them further to 300-320 fps or Stock AEGs, but many gas pistols in a warm environment would come in around 340-350. Also, stock G&G guns consistently come in ranging from 280-340fps - The G&G RK105 chronoed 335fps while the M14 chronoed at 345-358 fps.
I am still going to voice concerns about the velocity, given the enclosed spaces. We'll see how this goes.
I assumed that when people post in a thread regarding details about a planned event, they actually intend to be at the event. Especially if they make such a point to nitpick details. If you want to come or plan to contribute to the actual event, please do so. Otherwise, please post the off-topic stuff elsewhere.
Thank you.

There's the pot calling the kettle black.
Oops, sorry, didn't see your post, Crow. Regarding the floors, the facility's owner and one of the other organizers had said the CQB facility is regularly cleaned. The floors have sawdust to help clean up the paint and the walls are wiped down. There was also some hinting about the facility being made available on a more consistent basis (possible a few sundays out of the month.)
k9, from what I've heard and from what was posted earlier, it seems to be right around $25 for the event. The Organizers from Nostromo is said to be developing the event scenarios, so we're at least in for some cool props and a good storyline. Again, the people coming to this helped to make the last two events wonderful.
Also, I believe due to the limited availability, registration for this event will be available online.

Price, Time and Registration Information por favor...
I understand it's roughly two months away, but with a 35 player cap and an itchy babysitter, I need as much advance notice as possible. Thanks for getting this going Texx, I look forward to playing with all of you.

Sounds good Texx, I'll keep an eye out on their website then.
79TA,
I hope you continue to post the BFP events over on the MAA boards, it seems we've got some crosstalk going on and it'll only continue to get better. I know that some MN players get tired of our indoor field after several months, this may be a nice diversion come January!

if the list fills up you should have over flow so everyone gets a chance to go if they cant make it to the first one.
Could someone from the area find out what the limitation for the fps of weapons will be for such games, and let us know? :D
I will be there to help setup, again. And I don't mind sitting out so the others can play. I will offer rides to anyone who needs one from Eau Claire. This time, I'll plan ahead so I have gas money to make it out there. There should be several SMGs available for this one, if anyone needs a rental.
My suggestion for this would be to pick up an SMG - electric or gas and stock up on mags. I'm wondering if we might stick mag and ammo restrictions on this one?
A-ron, the fps limitations, as per the event organizers will be 350 fps. From personal experience, a stock AEG (even an EBB) is more than enough for CQB action.
Sounds good, thank you Texx

Thanks for the updated info Texx, I think 350fps is the right way to go. Just a minor suggestion from my experience with these types of fields. We have something very similar at Thunder Alley www.indoorspeed.com and I've attended an Asylum (CQB) game in Chicago.
I would hold off on placing mag and ammo restrictions on the game until you really feel out what the field can do and what's appropriate. You could place a Semi Auto only rule if you're concerned about walls of plastic coming down, but limiting mags and ammo would take it to the extreme IMO. It's a free for all at Thunder Alley, but we do play Semi Auto only games on occasion. Take it or leave it, I'm coming either way.
I think you're doing a great service to the Midwest airsoft community by arranging these games, I know I really appreciate it.

BUMP/ Is this event still on???..... Because airsoftbattlezone.com is down and how do register without the website? :(
This game is still on. AirsoftBattleZone.com is currently going through site design changes, including a switch to a different hosting company and software updates.
Registration for the game is still being worked out. There is no exact word on when Registration for the event will begin, but I would speculate, Mid-December.
I'll post more details when I get them.

Just a quick post to let everyone know Airsoft Battle Zone is up and running again. Ticket's are now available for purchase for the CQB event on January 14th, 2007. We are still under construction on our site at the moment, but it is back up on line.

Full automatic fire may be allowed during particular scenarios at the discretion of the Event Organizer.
Will the majority of the games be semi auto only?
Is the only accepted form of face protection the "full face" paintball mask?
Would ballistic rated goggles with hard ear flaps and attached face mask that covers the nose and mouth suffice?
Thanks!

Modified paintball mask?
Take a JT Flex lower, do some minor dremeling and voila'! Snaps into the frame of ESS Profile NVG's with no problem. I've fielded this at the Asylum games minus the ear flaps, they allowed balaclavas.

K9troop,
Yes you can use the modified mask. Yes the majority of the games will be semi auto, but there will be full auto in some of the games.

Roger that, just trying to determine which AEG's I bring.
I was wondering if the Organizers might be interested in having a "Revolver Challenge" set up at this game where participants have a six shot gas revolver to compete on the CQB course. Get hit or run out of ammo and you're out.
Just a variation of an idea my buddies and I used to play. Only we had the "one mag challenge" - no hicaps, no more than 30 rounds, any stock gun, semi or full auto allowed. If your mag held less than thirty rounds you could either carry a spare mag or loose BBs and a loading tool.
The games would be furious, but usually didn't last longer than 15 minutes. Perhaps we could set the time limit at 10 minutes with any survivors getting a prize?

An eight-shot limit Pistol Challenge sounds like a great idea, I'd be happy to work a couple of those in. There's a Children of the Corn-esque variant called "Knife-Weilding Maniacs" that is an absolute blast with the right group of players. Does anyone else have a favorite CQB set they'd like us to run on the 14th?

personally im a fan of the North Hollywood shoot out, IE 2 players get to use AEG's everybody else is pistols/shotguns and you have a small team of a few players who represent SWAT who can use AEG's but are not allowed in game till about 5-10 mins after start(depending on game length) anywho the bad guys can not die unless they are hit in the head, everyother player is dead if they are shot and get no respawns. Otherwise I like baricaded suspect/hostage style games
