View Full Version : Racine area
My friend and I are really interested in joining / creating an airsoft team. Were looking for an area for practice and maybe some teams to play with. Could someone post what areas near/in racine are used for playing airsoft? Any information would be appreciated.
There really is nowhere to play in or around Racine. Find someone with private land in the county somewhere.
In the City = NONO!
I live in Racine and trust me, city cops no likey airsoft guns!

Yep, I live in Racine as well. Not a whole heck of a lot there...
For those who know of Blackrain Paintball, I helped build the field and served as head ref for awhile. I've been talking to the owners about putting in an airsoft field, but it would likely not be that big. I'm also talking to the owners of Paintball Sam's whom I've known for many years, and the only thing holding them back is that their insurance company won't clear them for airsoft (at least that was the reason given, though several of the staff there play airsoft).
My brother and buds are forming a team in Racine, and if there's ever anything going on in the Racine/Kenosha/Milwaukee area, we'll be there.
I live in Kenosha, the only place I know to play airsoft on a field that is close is the paintball field in gurnee.
Yes, I used to help run Futureworld Paintball in Racine and I know the owners of Black Rain. They wont have airsoft. As for Nicky at PB Sams, we tried to play out there YEARS ago and she wasn't having it! :)
And there are some games at Paintball Blitz in Illinois but not the best field. Holds water like my grandmother. :D
Not too many games around here. None to be exact in the last few years. Travel is usually required but worth it if your going to get into the sport. If you go to Dicks or Walmart and buy a gun, play in your basement. (if they shoot that far) ;)

Not necessarily. We're putting in a field out back behind the parking lot (just have to finish jumping through the hoops with Caledonia), and we're debating wether or not to do something with the upstairs. Airsoft has been brought up for both.
Well ya never know. Everytime I ride by there I see like 1 or 2 cars. Business must not be booming. Maybe in the winter like Futureworld. Back when the owners of B.R. were just players at our field.

You must just be driving by at the wrong times. ;)
Blackrain gets a ton of business on Fridays and Saturdays, every time I'm there we have at least 20 people playing. Mostly kids, which explains the lack of cars!
I see... bad timing! Not like I intend to stop in but hey! I'm glad they have business. I got out of paintball a few years ago. Trying my best to avoid "paintsoft" as well. The thought of opening an indoor airsoft facility has crossed my mind, it's just the whole LACK of funds that holds me back. Airsoft in Racine isn't bid enough to base a business around it. I'd need free rent and massive retail sales to make it work. And I REALLY doubt that's happening anytime soon. :D
Oh well, VIVA LA TFD!!!
