View Full Version : Time to say goodbye - It has truly been a pleasure!

Well that fork in the road has come, and time for me to take it. I have been contemplating this for a long time. The sport no longer has the pleasure it once had for me. Sure I could just quit and quietly fade away, but that would not be my style would it? Besides that, I want to pay homage to those that made my playing what it was. A true pleasure. Will I ever come back and play? Maybe one day, but right now, I don't have the love anymore. I am so wound up in my work, and any free time I have, I spend on the lake with my Jet Skis, with friends and family. This sport has changed a lot since the early days, but the people are the same. Some go, some stay. But the fun and fire is in them all. Everyone has the same drive, just different ways about it. Thats what makes the various teams so good. Everyone brings something to the table. It always made the day interesting and a good time.
Quite a few years ago, I came up with the idea for the WAA. The name and idea was mine. On the website, it still pays homage to me for that. I can never forget that and am thankful forever for that. You don't know what it means to me. With the help of other friends, Bob, Bruce, and Jim, we fine tuned it and made it better for what we all thought would work for everyone. Times do change and things sadly have to change with it. Brad is on his second term and I think there couldn't be a finer guy for that job. The organization is formed for YOU guys. If it doesn't suite your needs, join or make suggestions to change that. You need unity in this sport for longevity. Work together friends!
It has been a long bumpy road, but the road still took us on that journey!
To pay homage if I miss any of you, it is because I am forgetful, nothing more.
My TFD brothers, you are the best. Lots of rough roads in our sport, but you made it easier. Be nice to the new guys, you were all new once too. Show them the ropes and teach them the ways. Be a positive influence!
Group W Been a long time since I played with you guys, but the memories cannot be matched. The fun, the Ponderossa, it was the best. You made it worth it all. You guys are champs. Those times at germers and the Island were hands down the best EVER! For those that never got to play at those places, you REALLY have no idea what you missed.
Ghostbear. My man, if I ever would have joined another team, I would join with you. It was an honor my friend. BELIEVE THAT! You kept me grounded in what was right. Thanks bro!!
Prof. We had some troubled times, but you were still a friend. Thanks for always reaching out when it seemed fruitless. You are a man of honor and made the game fun!
Tank I wish you wouldn't have left bro. But we all have to "go for it!" And you did. Always a friend!
Beest Sad to see it end the way it did. But when it was good, it was a blast. Now we have more of those crazy stories. On the field you were my double. With you around, I didn't have to work as hard. You came a long way in a short time. Made me proud. Underneath somewhere I think there really was Delta in you. And I think you know what I mean. But everything must come to an end sooner or later. Godspeed my friend.
Gary I never got to know you enough, but your field was a blast. I am glad I got to play on it at least once. Thanks!
Maple You were Delta for a little while and is was fun bro. You are a true pleasure to have around.
Razor I never got the chance to play with you. But I felt like we went through hell together for 100 yrs. Maybe one day! Take care bro!
If I forgot you, I am sorry, but everyone I played with made the experience what it was. Truly a good time. If I never met you or never played with you, I missed that opportunity. It would have been a blast I am sure. But I am sure I will pop in should the interest catch me again.
Task Force Delta made it 12 years. We were the oldest team in the state, and sometimes were the largest. Whatever it was at any given time, it certainly was fun. You all have made it a great experience one way or another. So with that, I thank you all for the memories and wish you all good luck. Adios friends!!
Sorry to hear that you gotta go NS.
Hope your future endevours (SP?) are fruitful and I look forward to being able to some day buy the Stalker line of custom cars at my local retailer.
Gotta ask, is this the end of TFD??? Or will we have a TFD2 (aka the electric boogaloo)
I guess if the movie Roadhouse can have a part 2 (it's on dvd kids) then so can TFD. Maybe under the leadership of Fellatio????
See you around NS.

Thnx guys. As far as the state of TFD, we (the team) still are discussing that one. "TFD 2, Electric Boogaloo" sounds very tempting. lol
You actually can get a Night Stalker Customs (NS Customs) car. I work for Shelby now. They have a new line I have been working on with them, and will be available at Kmart at the end of Aug. Here are some pics and info on them.
New NS Customs Shelby Cars (http://www.totalforceairsoft.com/NSshelbycars.htm)
Shelby.... damn.
I'll send you some pics once the cars are out and I have completed my already "brewing" custom paint job.
NS I never got the chance to Meet you in person or play airsoft with you. I have heard the stories from teammates and your legacy will live on. It is truly a loss with you leaving the sport. God Speed with what you will be moving onto and Thank you for your contribution to the sport.

With the greatest respect, I thank you for establishing this fine assosiation and manning one of the best teams in Wisconsin. You put your sweat and blood into the making of it, but I do feel that your choosing the right path. Enjoy life man, live it to the fullest.
My deepest regards,
-Dylan
I have got to echo you. It was a blast man. I too wish it hadn't ended the wya it did...but some times life takes you other ways. Some crazy **** was done. Like you said...sometimes you come out with stories that people look at you and say...no way?!?!?!
You taught me alot of things. Helped through some bad times. For that I am gratefull.
Glad to see the diecast turning leaves for ya. It's truely a passion for you. It's not often someone makes a liveing doing what they love.

Hope you will stay on the boards at least. I think you will come back. ;) If not, best of luck to you and have a good one.
First off I'd like to say that is has been fun and an honor to play with you guys. I too have got to a point where I had to let something go. I've got some new hobbies, and work almost every weekend, and I haven't played in over a year, so this was the logical chioice. I will keep some of my equipment, in case there is ever a day when I return to the field.
I still remember the first "big" WI game, well at the time it was big, about 20 players freezing our butts of at Mr. Germer's farm. Now almost 6 years later, the sport is still going strong. I would like to thank some of those who have made this possible.
NightStalker & Gunney -- The best team leaders and friends a guy could have. I can't believe we made it 12 years.
The rest of TFD -- It has been fun and an honor to play with you guys. I'm sure we will still get together from time to time, don't be strangers. We couldn't have made it this far without each and every one of you. I know the road was bumpy at times, but we perservered and always made it through.
Group W -- Without you guys it would have taken a lot longer to get the big games going in WI. You guys had the best land in the beginning, the island and Mr. Germers farm were probably 2 of the best fields I ever played on. Jim Moorman, Bruce Resnick, and Bob Kranker, thanks for putting together some great events in the early years. It was always fun getting together with you guys.
Apocolypse paintball -- Thanks for opening up your field to airsoft, we needed a place to play and you guys came through, which allowed us to host the biggest event in the Midwest. Never a dull moment, a great field indeed.
I also would like to thank all the other players and teams throughout the state and the rest of the midwest. It has been fun, lots of memories, both good and bad.
With that I bid you all my farewell, have fun, maybe we will meet again some day.

Geese NS, I'm very sorry to hear of your departure. I really appreaciate your comments and feel the same. We had our bumps now and then but I always figured we could straighten things out if we just got on the phone or talked in person. I can't say more than what Beest said about your passion and work. The Shelby's are too kewl. You deserve it. Best of luck to you.
I see your side kick Tonto...uh, I mean, Rogue is taking the same road. That seems kinda right in many ways. You guys take care and don't be strangers. Best of luck to you both.
As you both ride off into the sunset the music plays ...and all of a sudden there is a fade away to a scene the infers that some day there maybe another coming of the Night Stalker and Rogue...like the remake of Miami Vice :]
Take care guys...

I feel so old in this this, but yet so young because I haven't been apart of this board for quite some time, .........geeze, I have to think, not since I left Flatrock(group W d-board), quite awhile ago. I guess I don't know where to start, but to pick up where my other two comrads left off. For those of you that don't know me, I am TFD's No. #2, I have been with TFD from the very start, helped create it if you think of it. I was at that natorious first WI game at Germers back in 2000, where it was colder than a witch's tit, and then shortly there after helped spark off the WAA that all of you know today.
With regret I too am leaving, and to lay my weapon down, to retire for whom knows how long. My lust for this has gone to the past, where I now have new adventures with my new house, and other ideals. For I will never forget all the good times I had while being apart of this sport, this hobbie. I will never forget the people I have met, and thus became a part of my life, as well outside of airsoft. I will never forget the skirms that I had participated in through thick and thin, and always had a blast. I wish to leave with no hard feelings to the individuals that know me, but to remember me as someone that cared for the sport, and for the people on and off the field.
I wish to also leave with the following messages to the following individuals, forgive me if I had forgotten others, for it wasn't my intent.
Wisconsin Airsoft association - I hope that this can, and I know it will be a collective group that will become a mainstream for others to follow in the midwest.
Group W - My best wish's and reguards to you all, for you were the fisrt I had the pleasure to skirm with, best wish's for your future.
Echo Team - Professor, take care, as well for the rest of ya, best bunch of limey's a guy could know.
Ghostbear - I see nothing but a individule for whom has what it takes to see the WAA, your team through thick and thin, it's been a pleasure.
Others - I also have to give props out to past players, Bob, Jim, Germer's owner, Bruce, all of whom were the original players in jump starting the WAA. Also, Teet's(Beest), take with your new team, Frosty- lost touch with ya since Red Venom I, take care. Got to give kudos to all the other homise that I went out of state to there games, ILL., Min. Gary- it was a pleasure going to your field for Op. Black hawk down.
It is always hard to say goodbye to something, but I know somethings will never die.........................so I leave all of you with best of reguards in hoping that this hobbie can continue for years to come, so that if there ever happens to be a spark in my heart, that I know that I can return to what I am leaving behind.
Take care folks, guys, gals..........
Peace out...............

Farwell NS, Rogue, and Gunney. It was great knowing and working with you guys for the time we were together. I hope for the best for each and everyone of you.
P.S....The Shelby's look amazing!
Besides the fact that you guys suck for leaving, and some of what was written brought the feelings of tear drops to my eyes, we will miss you.
I too am slowly losing the "lust" for the sport, and hope I can figure everything else out in my life before I let this go completely. I still hold onto it deerly, and love playing, but without players like yourself watching over us, and giving us ALL guidence, it just won't be the same.
I hope all three of you the best of luck, and hope that your lives take you to better places.
Take care, and hope to see you around.

Aww man, and I was hoping I'd get a chance to play with you guys sometime soon. Oh well, all flesh is as grass and all that. Good luck with future endeavors!
Gunney ...Rogue...Take care guys. As for team.....not on one over here.
But anyway...sad to see all you guys go. The spirit of TFD lies in you guys, come what may...............
This may be one of the most upsetting threads that we have had on the forums in a long time.
Not 1, but 3 "living legends" of WI airsoft are retiring?!?
NS, Rogue and Gunney (tight pants), it has been a great deal of fun shooting with you guys the last few years. Not only was the time on the field great, but the "coke and joke" sessions after games (or training) were 10x more fun. Even though you have not been out as much over the last year, I will miss the games at Apoc. being beaten to a pulp (or beating the other team to a pulp) by you guys.
Good luck with everything, especially Gunney's never ending quest to find extremely tight BDU pants, and I am sure I'll see you all again sometime.
All that said, those of you formerly on TFD looking for a team, rise forth from the ashes of TFD and become.... T.D.H.D.B. aka The David Hasselhoff Death Brigade (you all can be schuper schleet schniperz) ;)
Team S.U.G.A.R. shall rise in your honor!!! STALKER - UH, Gunney - AND ROGUE!!!
Ok, funny idea but hard to take a bunch of people with sugar cubes on their patches seriously.
VIVA LA TFD!!!
:D

Thanks all. The only thing I can really say, is you all made it a great experience. The good and the bad made it a wonderful memorable time. Like family, it is never easy everyday, but that never meant it was a bad thing or somehitng I ever regretted. If it wasn't for the level of comraderie (sp) in this group, I would have never had a reason to sign off and pay homage thanking everyone involved. You guys made it what it was.
I could have just never posted and walked away. But you guys were better than that and deserved to know it!

wow we are all gonna miss you man. I remember the first time i seen nightstalker at a game. It was apoc's, rubber ducky i believe, night game and beest was the only one left and ns told us to go back in to the game and not let beest have bragging rights. Ha ha and the stories he told after the skirmish. They were hard to believe. Take care! Hope to see you come out of retirement like Hulk Hogan does every now and then. Just to keep your fans entertained!
