Hi all,
I'm comming up on my first official game and was wondering what equipment I'd need / What equipment most first timers forget. After scrounging around the forums for a little bit I see as the bare necessities:

1. AEG
2. Kill Rag
3. ~3000 BBs
4. Water
5. BDUs of your sides color / style
6. Eye protection
* Boots
* Bug Repellant

Now add to this list the stuff that will make your game more enjoyable / productive:

7. Spare Magazines
8. Spare Battery
9. Sidearm
10. Tac Vest / pouches
11. Snack
* Radio w/ Headset
* Knee Pads

Is there anything that I am forgetting on the basic list or the expanded list?
Thanks!

A great attitude, and willingness to learn, and your all set to go for your first game!

EDIT: What they said below too helps. The boots I forgot about, I got my Ansi rated boots that kick butt!

Not a bad list. I'd just add some sort of bug repellant (I' prefer the lemon eucalyptus stuff from Repel. Works well and doesn't melt plastic.) Also it's a great idea to have a good pair of boots along with a radio and headset. Along the protection of boots, kneepads can be a godsend. Elbow pads aren't as useful, I've found.

Edit: Fine A-Ron... get all intangible on us...

That's a great list. I agree with Jun, a radio and a headset are always useful for keeping in communication. The boots should be a MUST - and not light weight hiking boots. You want to look for a good sturdy pair of waterproof boots. Obviously, "combat boots" work best, but a sturdy pair of work boots will do. You want them waterproof/resistant, because most of the fields in WI have at least one area of swampy muck.

The snacks should be energy or granola bars, as opposed to Snickers or candy. A banana or something that can give you an energy boost without ending up as a heavy rock in your gut. I usually bring a handful of breakfast/energy bars and a couple of the small packets of trail mix, that will do me for the whole day.

One last thing, you can never bring too much WATER. I know you listed it, but water is critical. It's really easy to sweat yourself into dehydration when you're wearing BDU's and 20+ pounds of gear. Bring a LOT of water. A good number of guys have hydration packs of various makes. You want to bring AT LEAST 80oz (that's 5 pints? or 1 litre?) of water for the day. I usually bring my 1.5l Camelback and a softside cooler full of 20oz squirt bottles to pass around if needed.

Hope to see ya out on the field!!
