Hi, I am new to airsofting. I am 13 now (14 in the fall), and by my understanding this means I can't go into any "offical" skirmishes for another two years. This is correct, right?
That being said, if I follow all the safety guidelines (as in goggles, no blind fire etc.), I can still play around in the backyard until I am of age? I live on a big property in West Bend with about 8 acres of forestland, and about 5 minutes away another good couple of acres my friend owns we play on (imagine a big kame).
Lastly, as of now I only have a GBB WE Hi Capa 5.1 Since I am new to the sport, I am looking for a good stock gun, and that has led me to choose a TM Ak 47. Does anyone have any good places to purchase one, and some other things (magazines, strap etc.)?
Thanks in advance for any help.
As long as its your own property, play on it till your little legs give out on you. Just keep in mind that problems have occured if you are seen by police or if your neighbors call the police on you because they are concerend.
As far as following rules, I know that this may sound bad to some here on the boards... But you don't have to obide by WAA rules if it is your property. WE HOPE THAT YOU DO obide by the rules or simliar ones to prevent injuries and to play safely, but if it is private property, the WAA cannot make you follow their rules. (I'm not trying to bash on the WAA or yourself, I am simply stating facts.)
But please, do play safely and take into consideration most of the rules that are in effect by the WAA. They are a good basis of rules to start with.
Just make sure your parents know that you are playing on it, they can come into a lawsuit if something happens to you or one of your friends if it is not their property or if any of your friends get hurt.
Even signing a liability paper does not mean they cannot come into contact with a lawsuit though.
As far as places to buy guns, check with Gary (http://www.wiairsoft.com/forums/member.php?u=24) he has his own store and can get you the gun, or there are a lot of websites that you can purchase them from. I personally order most of my guns through Airsoft GI or reliable people that I know in the area.

Have your parents call your local police department and see what the laws are about airsoft. I don't know about West Bend, but in Mequon, firing an airsoft gun is prohibited if you have less than seven acres. Don't play in any area where you can see a road or where neighbors can see.

Hi, thanks for responses. Good ideas, and I will always play safe.
I have a question reguarding a certain brand. Are UTG guns any good? I have heard some pretty good reviews, and they are cheap (I know, you get what you pay for), but I am 13 and am stripped for cash.

You WILL be happier with a Tokyo Marui. A TM AEG will last until you are old enough to play and then some.

A bit arrogant I may say, but hey, if you need the two years more of training, then by all means, train till your legs fall off. Theres ALWAYS someone better than you.

Rainbow 6 ftw noobzor!
Anyway...I had to wait about that long before my first real game, it sucks, but I am a lot more mature now than I was then. My first game wasn't that great, it was friggin cold and my battery died. Second game was at Apoc though, absolutely beautiful.

And it was fun. :D In the two games I've played in I'm learning I'm a better defense player than offensive one. I'm just to slow and fat to do that running through the woods thing....ha...ha.... :)

I know this might not be the most relavent thing, buut.... what ever. There can't ALWAYS be someone better, I mean, there is one person in this world that is the best, or, tied for the best. Eitherway, no one is better than that guy(s). And to stay on track, test out a few different model guns before making your choice. There is nothing wose than buying a gun and then deciding that you don't like it.

Erm no BLACK is the best training while your on the couch, but anyway i am very young too, but im lucky i live real close to Commando (although they rarely have games but i heard they will have more) I'm just saving up for a stock Marui aeg or a Marui spas 12. Welcome.

Listen to him! When I bought mine I waited until i have enough for it and I'm glad. I'm just trying to say wait and save for a TM and you won't regret it. I'd suggest Gary, as he helped with every question i had, and his prices are great.
