Hi, about a month ago I heard about airsoft from a few guys at a paintball scenario, telling me I should try it out. So anyway one thing led to another and I got real interested, and then I bought a gun and bbs, etc. Then I came upon this site, and read everything there was to read in the FAQ on getting started. I was reading this line: "Okay, so now you bought your gear, you decided to go to a game this weekend." thinking where would I find a game to go to? Anyway what I'm asking is where would the best place to go to my first game be? I noticed airsoft doesn't seem to have a real "open arms" way of letting people jump right in like I easily did in paintball, just showing up at the local field and playing. Correct me if I'm wrong there. Also, I've read about a class or something I need to take because I'm under 18? Where would I go about doing that? I didn't see anything in the new player FAQ about it, but I could have missed it so again correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance!

No, I don't really see how it relates, but I was at a place called Action Packed Paintball...they do 2 big games a year. I usually go to Apoc for regular games though.

It relates cuz Apoc allows us to use thair coarse for airsoft skirms. OP: RedVenom will be there this summer I believe. As far as where to go I would just hit the field closest to you. Some of the more popular fields are: The Wargame Field (Adell WI), Dragons Lair (Ft. Atkinson), and Apoc PB. Check the events and games section for game dates and locations. There are numerous other fields, but those are the most popular that I know of.

Ah...been going there for 5 years and had no idea :D I'll hafta check it out. So I don't need to be on a team or anything to show up, right? Also I'm sure most if not all people there will have AEGs/snipes, right? Just wondering cuz all I got is a utg m87 shotty heh...

I believe that Timmay asked, because he and I met some folks interested in the sport at Apoc. last month. He was probably just wondering if you were one of those folks.
Anyways, if you look under the link with all of the games and skirms, you can find out when and where games are being played.

Make sure your car is locked. If it isnt, youll be laughed at if somethings taken, and thats about it.

No, you dont need to be on a team or anything, although the Dragons lair and The Wargame Field require that you pass an AEC (Airsoft Education Coarse) before playing if your under 18. The owner of TWGF (Garyb) does provide a temporary coarse you can take early before a game on game day, just let him know ahead of time. As far as Apoc and the AEC I have no idea.

Hell, make sure its locked in your own driveway too. My parents had my grandmothers car unlocked and it was stolen as it was sitting in our driveway and it ended up at a car yard 4 miles away.

theDude, where are you located at? Wolf Recon plays every weekend at our playing fields in Baraboo and Rock Springs.

If you are ever looking for a game, send me a PM. Feel free to take a look at our website at www.wolf-recon.com. Directions to our field are on our website as well.

Welcome to the WAA boards!

You should play at an Airsoft feild ... Where you ask??!?! ... Well thats easy ... One located close to you.

Don't mean to sound like an ass, but well....yea. Gary's feild is a good one to go to, and its not too far either.
