i was thinking about getting my Tokyo Marui G36 upgraded with a higher rated spring and metal bushings - something real basic to give it a little more velocity. however, i was wondering if my 8.4V 600mah mini batteries will still work with it. does anyone have any experience with this? will i need to run a higher output battery in order to drive the stiffer spring? i also have an 8.4V 1100mah NiMH battery; does that have a higher output?
Depending on the spring you use, an 8.4 should be fine.
You'll just get even fewer shots out of a 600 than you do now.
If your as trigger happy as i am, get a 8.4v large 3300mah battery :D ... But yes, you might want to get a 1100mah mini, the 600mah battery will get alot fewer shots w/ a stronger spring in it.
You're rate of fire will decrease a lot. I have a g36 with the same upgrades so I use a 9.6...I know a lot of people dont agree with that though. I didnt like my rate of fire at all with the mini 8.4s so I sold you and some other people my old 8.4s

do they make 9.6V packs that fit into the G36C stock though? don't those packs have an extra cell?

The g36c I traded for came with two 9.6v 2k NImh. But it looks like they where hand made with parts. They fit in it pretty tight, but it works.
I've seen that they have extended front ends for the g36c, you might be able to fit a bigger battery into one of those?
www.onlybattterypacks.com has a g36 9.6 battery. It fits great, its sort of a nunchuck style. They are located in menomenee falls too.

some battery basics
each cell is 1.2v so if you have 7 cells = 8.4 , 8 cells = 9.6 , etc....
the size of the cells mini and large is just that the size of the cells large cells can have larger capacity which is what is refered to in mAH
Cells can be configered in any way you would like. I run a 12v in my m4a1 and it all fits in the for grip.
to answer your question about the batteries you have they should work fine up to a Systema M120 Spring you will loose some rate of fire and you will get fewwer shots per full charged batterie. as for going to a 9.6v batterie you can, to get some of your rate of fire back but the mAH is what will determain the number of shots.
This is just a small over veiw if you are going to be at the game on the 13 I can explain it to you there if you still have questions.
Hope that helps
PS I would recomend adding a Spring guide to your upgrades. ;)

discharge rate is key for rof. my bro (ben) had two 9.6's whos discharge rate was so low that they couldnt power my sas and his aug fired like a 50 cal. onlybattery packs lists their discharge rates so you can compare. however his 9.6v "nunchuk thing" has been working and fitting very well in his g36c. the extension for the g36 forgrip is part of the g36c- g36 mod i think. the normal rifle has a much longer barrel and longer forgrips. the c is for compact or soemthin. i havent researched the g36c much as i never had an interest in aquiring one. good luck with your upgrades!
