View Full Version : Newsletter Q&A
Hi everybody. As you can see, the WAA newsletter has been posted. Please take a moment to look it over.
This thread was started as a Q&A thread. If you have any questions in regards to the newsletter, please feel free to post. I will do my best to answer the questions as soon as I can. If I do not have the correct info to answer the question, I will gladly look into it for you and get back once I have the answer.
Please do not use this thread as a WAA flaming column. Any off topic posts will be deleted.
Any posts that contain good info will be swiped by me and added to the locked newsletter thread. The reason behind this is that I don't want people having to scroll through 20 pages of questions and comments to find that "special" post. By moving items to the locked topic, people will be able to reference them a little more easily.
thanks everybody.

I'd like to be one to commend you on taking the time to write up what had been done, and what is going to be done, and what is in progress. Greatly helps out us (the non-members) to know what is going on with the WAA and lets us know that it is something that is in fact, something that could potentially benefit from us joining.
Well written piece of information Mr. Vice President. Thank you

As of right now, a safety video is not in the works. To be honest, i am not sure what, if any, worth a safety video would have if it was given to the media.
To start, a informational packet is being developed to had out to law enforcement and possibly the media. the packet will be more of an introduction to the WAA and airsoft in WI. It is intended to better explain what airsoft is and how we are taking an active approach to safety concerns in our communities. We are going to try to work with the public to better our (airsofters) image and to let them know that what most of them see (people committing crimes or acts of stupidity with airsoft guns) is not what the majority of airsofters do or support.

True, but with a safety video could be shown at the AEC's. plus it help show that we mean good.

umm, question.
The AEC's are held at fields. IN the field. So, unless you have a gas generator or a place that has power you cant really show any video in the field. Plus, you would need a TV or projector and a screen.
I'm not trying to put down anyone, or smash anyones idea.. BUT, I have run televisions and gaming systems out of my car before with just the use of an inverter (they make dual outlet ones big eoungh to handle the power drain). Only thing that I had to do was make sure that my car was running so that power was constantly being supplied.
Personaly, a video IMO, sounds kind of korny, but hey.. If its what the public wants, maybe it might peak intrest.
How about along the lines of a Safety video to place on the website or in the forums? The pamphlet is a good idea for the outside agencies but when people come to the WAA they should be able to "see" what it is we mean by safety. All the words in the world cannot provide what a picture/video can provide....
not to sound like an ass, but what would be the point of showing a safety video at an aec??? Isn't the one of the purposes of an aec to present safety, which is done by live people. Why would we replace a live instructor with a video that can't answer questions.
As for a video to present on the website, it is an interesting idea. I will look inot what it would take to do this and whether or not it would be a viable option.
yeah, video on website = good idea :):)
video during skirmish =:( and confused face
