What-Airsoft Education Course
Where-Dragon's Lair-Ft. Atkinson, WI
When-April 30th, 2006
Arrival-9AM-945AM
Course Start time-10AM Sharp-No Delay for stragglers-Plan arrival accordingly.
Course End Time-3PM-4PM Latest.
Ages-15 to 17 will be required to take this. 18+ is optional. I suggest you go either way.
All players whom are between the ages 15 to 17 and any player of any age 18 and above whom are simply interested are recommended to attend. Many of you may have noticed that The Lair and Manitowoc requires it and there has been discussions regarding the War Game Room field also doing so. What this means is that all of the available fields understand the importance of attending the program especially in the interest of safety. It may soon be a necessity at all fields that you have attended this program, or it's accepted equivilant, if you are 17 or younger.
Weather-Dress accordingly. Dress as you would come for a skirmish, but do NOT put on any gear/guns/goggles/ammo etc until imformed to do so. I demand you wear boots of any kind, unless absolutely no other option. NO SNEAKERS.
We will start with "classroom" lecture at 10AM.
There will be a lunch break-Plan accordingly
EVERYBODY-will need a waiver filled out BEFORE showing up.
EVERYBODY-Needs to fill out an access card prior to arrving.
Any questions on those 2 specific items, contact Dark Knight (http://www.wiairsoft.com/forums/member.php?u=16)
Elite Dragon Squad (http://eds-wi.net/)
Dragon's Lair Field (http://dragon-lair.net/dragon_main.htm)
Skirmish Dates at Dragon's Lair (http://www.unholy-covenant.net/unholywow/)
Any other questions-post them here or PM me.
Anyone Attending-vote in the poll AND post a reply with how many for sure.
If you arent going, dont post anything. If you cant go after to post, please post informing us. Thank you.

I'll be one of the 18+ going. This is almost certain. Since the Dragon's Lair is pretty close to me.

Here is a brief overview (http://www.wiairsoft.com/forums/faq.php?faq=airsoft_info_gameplay#faq_airsoft_info _gp_aec_1) of what the AEC is all about, for those not in the know.
Quick question: I'm not sure if the answer is buried somewhere else here on the boards, but aside from a pair of boots and the desire to learn, what else is required for attending the AEC? Do you need an AEG, or could one use a springer? Do we need pen and paper for taking notes?
one question, What is dangerous and/or bad about having a 14 year old attend a classroom session? I somewhat understand why one couldnt play.
Anyone who answers please dont say, "because thats the rule", or "it just is", I'd like a complete response.
Thanks,
Tyler(14 and diggin' it)

when i went to the AEC, it was required to have an AEG. you do go through marksmen portions during the day. i don't know if that has changed at all or not though

The AEC is currently DESIGNED for a STOCK AEG. IF you can complete the course with anything else, you are welcome to try. I DO reccomend an AEG, or borrow your friends if you have to.
This course will be held ENTIRELY OUTSIDE!
REMEMBER WAIVERS! REMEMBER FIELD CARDS!
Things to bring-Everything you would to a skirmish...
BDU's/Tough clothing.
BOOTS!
Gun-AEG preferably.
Appropriate eyewear-For Dragons Lair it is FULL SEAL no matter what age!
Gloves-maybe it will be cold.
Hat or headwear-see above.
gear-vest LBV or whatever.
AMMO-we will not provide any.
No need for pen and paper-just listen and we will provide materials.

A bunch of us Wolf Recon will be there. We're going to try to bring everyone, including all the 18+ players. Taking the AEC is just a good idea.

I thought I aksed already, but I guess not.....
But what is the cost of this AEC, if there is one?
Timmay
06 Apr 06, 03:36 PM
Currently there is NO cost unless otherwise informed. Dark Knight is kind enough to let us use his field at no charge. Donations accepted and encouraged since he's doing it all for fun.

you said what is dangerous about having a 14 yr old in classroom, or did you mean on the field?

I'm up plus 1, so 2 total will be in my party.
no answers?....
The Lair adheres to the WAA rules, which allow only players 15 and over to play airsoft. Since you are under the age of 15 for a few months, we would be violating our own rules by allowing you to participate in an AEC ro game. Also, even if you were allowed to take the AEC, you would not be allowed (as per the above mentioned reason) to play in the skirm that usually follows the AEC.
I know you're eager to play man, and that's good, just gonna have to wait a few months.

so this is like a training corse kinda thing? i'll try to make it, i hope i can, but i'll have to try and get the gear before this comes up. if i dont have one, does someone have a gun i might be able to use? cause my parents being parents, are skeptical. and dont want me to put my money in something they dont understand (yes i'm 18 and still live with my parents whats it to ya :P)

10 Apr 06, 08:18 AM
If it is at all possible for you to make it, go to the AEC. Yes, it is a safety and training evaluation course. If you do not have ANY gear yet, that's okay. The only thing that is vital are a good pair of boots - hiking/work/combat - something that will hold up to mucking around in brush, mud, tanglefoot, swampy stuff, etc. - water-resistant is a plus. Besides that, water and snacks. As far as the course goes, you don't need anything else.

A Gun Is Required For The Course.
Any kind? or AEG? Just a clarification.
SilentScope, the M4 is a great gun, almost everyone has one, most know how to fix it if you have a problem, great for a beginners gun in my opinion. Go with what you like though.

Ok, well change of plans for my weekend.... Turns out that I'm gunna be out of town this coming weekend.... But I did find someone to fill my spot. I'm gunna let my nub cousin borrow my sig552 and he should be coming up with my friend. So I guess the count for me is still 2, I just won't be there.

I think I'll be there too. Itchein' for a skirm, and wanted to take the AEC anyways. The course is for standard guns, but I have an m100 in my AK. That OK? Also, just curious, do you guys have a chrono there?

I will probably be attending along with DemonMutiny and possibly Crossover. I loved the stuff from the AEC up at TFD's place and will gladly attend this one. I only have one dilema...Timmay, you said the course is for a stock AEG. Does that mean I shouldnt even bother to bring my Upgraded M4 (it has an M100 spring and shoots about 370+fps.) If not I will be packing my lunch...along with my Taurus EBB
Timmay
25 Apr 06, 04:08 PM
The course is designed for a stock AEG. Anything heavier is up to you. So that means if you want to use a sniper rifle and you can pass, fine.
One of the goals is getting you familiar with your weapon and what it/you can do in fact.
