How many people need an AEC, and can make one in April?
No date is in stone yet. Interest needs to be there to hold one right away.
If there are any questions, please PM me.

Taken from the WAA FAQ:
What is an Airsoft Evaluation Course (formerly BATC)?
What is it?
AECs are WAA events created not only to provide new players with an opportunity to learn some basic Airsoft skills, but also to ensure they are the sort of player that is capable of strictly adhering to the WAA safety standards.
What might I learn?
In addition to safety, other topics taught are game rules, marksmanship, communications and basic military-style movement and tactics.
Do I need to go?
All new and potential players of all ages are strongly encouraged to attend an AEC. Players ages 15, 16 and 17 must attend a sanctioned AEC event prior to being allowed to participate in WAA-sponsored skirmishes. Note that other organizations, clubs and fields with an age limit may accept (or require) AEC completion as well.
When are they?
Check the WAA Events Calendar or the Skirmish Discussion forum for information on dates and times.
Where are they held?
The location of an AEC varies based on the availability of playing fields and concentration of AEC attendees. Occasionally an AEC may be held in a specific area to accommodate a large group. Feel free to inquire on the Skirmish Discussions forum.

Would there be a cost to the AEC? If so, how much?

Tyler, not to be the bearer of bad news, but the AEC is open only to those 15+ years of age. The majority of games (save for one or two a year) require that the participants be at least 15 years or older.

I believe that Timmay is only in the planning stages right now, and is looking for the number of people who may attend. I don't think he has nailed down a field yet, and that often is a determining factor as to whether it will cost or not. Some fields offer up their use for free, while others charge a nominal fee. Figure that if it does indeed cost, it will be no more than $10 which will be going to pay for the field usage.

Skullman-yes i will have a signup thread after the field is secured/date set. Your son and especially you are more than welcome to come. Its nice to have the parents involved to see that this can be safe if done properly.
Im shooting for the last weekend in April.
Cost will be either free, or at most around 10$ which goes to the field that provides the service. Materials for the AEC come out of membership to the WAA.
Current Status-
No field yet full secured
No fee determined
No date in stone.
This is purely to check interest, so we can prepare for the numbers which already seem to be getting sizeable.
While I don't need one, I know there has been a lot of talk about wanting one, and there seems to be a few out on the field that could use a little bit of education that this AEC provides.

save it until June then :(

Don't worry, another AEC will occur in a few months. We (the WAA) are going to work on holding AECs more often this year, so everybody who needs one will be able to attend without missing too much airsoft.

quick question. Would it be legal for tyler to be able to take the AEC but then not be on a field till June? i have no idea if that would be allowed but it was just an idea that would save some time and give him a chance to get on the field right away
