WGF Skirmish 4-2-06

Field opens at 830am, briefing at 10am, game starts at 1030am.
$15.00 Entry Fee.
Kill Rags required.
Supplies, snacks and drinks available at the field.
This skirmish will be based on a Viet Nam style battle.
We will need US Troops, ARVN Troops, and VC.
More details to follow.

Alright! I was getting a "bit concerned" about April not seeing any schedules. I just got my steel pot so I'll be a GI! It'll got with my OD BDUs... :] I can hear "InnaGoddaDavida baby" already....

This game will be based on a Viet Nam type skirmish.
There will be an American unit organized the same as a Rifle Platoon, with a HQ Section which will be the OC and three rifle squads which will be given orders to search, destroy and build fortified postions around the field.
On the other hand the VC will be in the area hiding, ambushing and attacking the fortified postions that the Americans build.
There will be free fire zones, where the VC may be fired at, and safe villages where all the inhabitants are "Friendly".
The VC will have to recieve medical care (regen) at the safe villages, while the Americans willl have their medics with the squads.
The Americans must locate hiden weapons and other items while the VC must protect these items and also attempt to evict the US from their land.
I will be looking for people who would like to play the VC, they should wear Tan or Black shirts, anyone intested in these roles let me know.

It does not matter what you wear under your tan or black shirt, pants make no difference.

No, guns are merely a personal preference, in some games they might make a difference as to bonus points, but usually no.

Please let me know who is playing the VC, the only uniform requirement is the Black or tan shirt, with the pants or vest being whatever you care to wear.
Weapons make no difference, bring what you have.

Game concept-
There will be five phases to this game;
Phase one- US forces will enter the field from the west their objective will be to set up a base camp for the next 4 phases.
VC forces will be operating from three villages.
Phase two- US Forces will conduct search and destroy operations from their base camp. Food caches have been hidden by the VC. The VC must protect their food supplies.
Phase three- Several US POW's have been reported in the area, the US Forces must rescue these POW's from the VC prison camps.
Phase four- VC Weapon teams have set up crew served weapons in the area, and are preparing indirect fire attacks against the US Base camp. The US Forces must find and destroy these weapons.
Phase five- VC Forces attempt to overrun the US Base camp and push the US Forces from their homeland.
Regen rules will apply but will be very limited in numbers.
US Forces may wear any type of uniforms, however only the VC may wear Black or Tan shirts.

My guess is that a good roster isnt put together yet, my reccomendation would be to wear a US uniform if you have it, and then bring a black or tan shirt with you.

What I have asked people to do is wear their regular camo but bring a black or tan sweatshirt if they do not mind playing either side.
If you are under 18, Yes you will need the safety briefing be there around 830am, this will take around 20-30 minutes.

It's a possibility, but the last I had heard they weren't supposed to come in until later in the day. Of course the way the forcast weather around here, who knows!

I know at traditional sporting events, any lightning in the sky puts the event on hold...can we expect this to happen for airsoft (assuming we even get t-storms), or what?

Seriously, I would only leave a game if A) I was hurt really bad B) my AMS acts up C) It is a downpour.

If there is any form of rain other than a downpour and those others listed above, I would stay, sorry to say other people are not like that.

You beat me to it Roadkill, Set your clocks tonight. I bet some will forget and show up an hour late or something. They were wrong with the T storms hitting friday at 4, so I think they will be late for Sunday too. Afterall, it is just a prediciton.....

Most muskets I know you could easily use in the rain. The ball makes an airtight seal in the barrel and the primer hole is only a millimeter or two wide, at the most.
