If your planning to attend any skirmish at the Dragon's Lair you need to fill out
the Field Access Card prior to coming out.
Why the Card:

I don't really have any preference. If I can make it, I can bring an alterative camo or whatever.

Viper,
Regrettably the date change to Memorial weekend bodes ill for the Regiment. I along with most the crew can't make it. So, it might be best to take us off the roster:(
Hopefully next time,
Kenuch
Can you give me a link to directions to this place, Ive never been there. Thank you.
Sure thing. Here are the directions. Directions (http://dragon-lair.net/new_items.htm)
Sorry to here that Pale Horse won't be able to make it. I am planning another "Nam" era game in August. Actually it will be Op : Liberty. I'll post it in the next couple months. ;)
Roadkill
14 Feb 06, 08:21 AM
Maybe two or three of Roadkill will make it. If anything most will probably be VC, but I am planning on being US

Good call on the Red Hawk Regiment. I do have my OD so I will for sure be a grunt on the US. In my personal opinion I think that only 1 radio be allowed per unit, but who am I to make up rules.

Hi all,
Just checkin, Sunday the 28th, right?
Also, do we have an estimate on the number of players? I'd like to go, just might need to pick up another set of BDU's if you need more VC. All of my gear is OD though (vest, pouches, etc...). I still have my ACU tac vest (going to sell it) so I guess that's pretty close to tan. *8) I could go that way too.

Thanks DK...
I'll be there for sure, but I'm not sure which faction I'll be on. As I've said, my only camo is woodland and my gear is all OD (I do have an ACU tac vest though), but I might pick up some goodies this weekend/week. I guess I have tan pants, so maybe I can give Texx a hand if I find a shirt. I'd rather be NVA or VC just to get the numbers closer.
Any entry fee? (don't know if all your games are free or just some...)

Viper and Frank,
I'm not sure where the rest of my team stands, but a few of us should be showing for this event. I will have a bit more accurate headcount pretty soon, but I am going to guestimate 4-6.
I would like to be on the NVA, because I have a new opfor outfit I would like to try out.
Also, have you considered adding Woodland camo to the US side because that is what most people have?
Kerrik,
Glad to hear you guys are making it. As for the uniform addition, No, we are trying (to a minor degree) to portray each side in Nam accurately. Plus it sends a clear cut image of who is who.
Frank,
Your right, if it gets up there a bit more, it might get to how Nam was. I don't know personally, but between you and my dad, I think I have a good idea. I think he summed it up best by one word, "Miserable". Which sounds like Op: Shadow last year.

That Was Rough
I won't be making it. My job has me on and off call on the weekends.
I have to put airsofting on hold until I can get another rifle and at least some webgear. Haven't been this far out of airsoft in five yearsm I don't even have an AEG right now. :(
Texx,
You will be sorely missed my friend. Drop us a line when you are ready to hit the field once again, we will gladly have you.
Yeah, sorry Viper. We just got a new Email system up and running and I spend the occasional weekend working on reports or going through the Spam Filter. It doesn't help that we just my truck back from the shop, either. And then, tiny Tim just got his crutch fixed, Ma recently had the mumps, the hogs have a fever, my dog ran away, my fish died, my cat died choking on the fish, and my Penthouse subscription ran out... Yeah, its been tough all over...

You'll find that games at the Lair may not be as "big" as other fields (i.e. lower attendance) but you will find that the quality of player tends to be more mature and easy going and the games are always a good time.
Some of the best games at the lair only have 10/15 people in it :)

If you haven't done your FEC Card (Med info) please do so.
You can check to see if your on the field access list.
http://dragon-lair.net/field_access.htm
Don't forget your waivor's - most of all Mosquito Repelent they may be active.
There will be two black drums on the tennis court .. one for plastic and cans the other for paper and debris.
If you never been at the Lair and like to take a walk around come 30 min early. If you have any question please ask.

26 May 06, 03:15 AM
And another note for newcomers...
It's you actually pull into DK's home property, so don't be surprised when you see a house. The tennis court is down behind the house, but you'll need to chrono before you head down there. It's over to the left of the house by the trailer.
-Only mentioning it because I wasn't sure I was in the right place when I got there. That is, until Viper came out of the house in full camo. *8)
-Gnome
P.S. It's not like you'll be playing in his backyard either... there are 15-20 acres of varied woods/grasslands/underbrush/marshy areas/ponds all with trails snaking through it.

Looks like at least 3 Echoians...can we play GI?
Curious, I've never been in DK's house...Hmmmm, out of body experience maybe? Just kidding Gnome.
Prof, if you show up in Woodland, Digital, Tiger, or OD, then "Yes", you can be GI. But I may need to readjust the sides to keep things fair.

So who won the second round? i had to leave a little after it started, i'm wondering if my "suicide run" did any good.
I would like to thank everyone that came to the game, you made it a truly memorable day. Despite the heat a good portion on both teams went back out for each unforgiving phase. And despite some health scares because of the heat, everyone had a great day.
DK,
Thank you for not only the use of your land once again, but also for leading the US forces to victory each phase.
Kerrik,
Outstanding job at leading the NVA, your careful planning and your leadership out there, made my job of running the game all the better.
To every single player that attended, thank you for doing your part to make this game, in my book, the best I have ever done.
With this game going as well as it did, I wanted people's ideas on how they would feel about a Nam era game. Where you would wear the proper uniforms, to represent the different sides. I believe they are called renactments. If you think this would be good, and you would want to be a part of it, let me know.
Thanks again everyone, and have a safe Memorial day.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say good by to everyone, I sure hope you all enjoyed your time at the lair. That heat sure was brutal for this old dog, looking forward the next time we all hit the field together.

Viper,
Great game yesterday! I was trying to be not quite as "tactical and technical" as I usually am because they NVA weren't trained in elaborate military tactics. I was also testing out not being in direct radio contact with my team and it worked out so-so... but I prefer having my radio on so I can talk to everyone :P It was a fun game, and anything more physical would have been killer in the heat. I hope the US forces liked our "creeping NVA attack" through the brush north of the tower in the last game :)
If anyone wants to put those towels I gave out to the test and send me back some feedback, it would be much appreciated. I can get TONS more of them too!
PS- Viper, I would be interested in a NAM area reenactment. I can get more Pith helmets at the baraboo surplus store for $10 a piece, so making more NVA will be easy :)

Great game Viper!
Thank you yet again DK for the use of your land, though I didn't get the pleasure of throwing some plastic at you. ;) I heard you shooting once (the infamous 250 round "burst" gives you away) but I was already dead.
Thanks Kerrik for leading us to... to a well organized defeat despite all of our sneaky plans. In all honesty, I think it went pretty well considering our mixed team. Despit not seeing too much action, being a part of a cohesive team was a lot of fun. Thanks for the towel too... so far so good! Used it to keep the sweat out of my eyes half the way home and is now a permanent addition to my gear bag.
Also, I'm always up for reinactments. I think the context adds a lot to the atmosphere of the engagements and can lend a hand to how they're handled for both sides. I'm slowly assembling various opfor outfits, so you can count on me and my AK. The NVA will rise again!
And the heat... yes, it was really hot. After the third phase on my walk back I realized it was a good thing I was done. Not woozy at all, just drained far beyond what I'd have expected. Thanks DK for the cider/tea/cold stuff... Honestly I don't remember what it was, but it was cold and tasty. Glad the day went by with only one heat incident, and even more glad he was fine. Way to take care of him everybody... that's what it's all about.

Nice game yesterday, I thought it was a pretty organized game and it went smoothly. I think there would have been more running and gunning if the heat wasn't such a scorcher.
PS: If anyone found a TM Standard AK mag please PM. My friend lost it.
