I just wanna say you are doing an incredible job at fulfilling the promise of a game at least every other weekend Gary. You smaller scale skirms are a load of fun too. They are a refreshing break from paintsoft.

Gary, You can count on me being there. If you need some help setting up or running the event, let me know.
Sorry, I'll be in california (hopefully) from the 5th - 11th. I'd love to make it to this if things flop over on me. And I do agree, the smaller scale ones are the shiznit.
Assuming there are no other conflicts, I will be there.

2 hours to long ? G.O.D. is in Green Bay, it takes us two hours to get to the field, even when we get there for the breifing, we're still there. And thanks to me we've actually been getting there earlier. lol
Anyway, I'm not sure about going, maybe next game. We'll see on the 7th if I feel like shooting people in the cold lol.

As Gary reitterated at other games, dress in what will keep you warm. Weapon requirements are silly, bring what you have and have fun!
Game Concept-
Seal Platoon 15 will be incerted into AO Batavia. The Platoon will consist of several Seal teams whos mission will be to destroy as many of the 15 identified structures in the AO as possible.
Soviet Special Forces units have been dispatched to the area to reinforce the militia units in the area. These SF units are engineer trained and are searching for the Seals and trained to deactivate the Demo that the Seals possess.
The Seal teams will recieve points for the number of structures destroyed while the Soviets will recieve points for the number of Seals captured.
The field will be open at 830am, it will be first come first to pick the teams they wish to be on.
Everyone must bring a Red Kill rag, if you forget or need one they will be available for sale at the field.
There is no uniform requirement, dress for the weather, and probably muddy conditions.

Well, all I can say is, wow, what a great game. I thought there wouldn't be a whole lot of shooting, but there was shooting practically the entire game. The spetz had the seals on the run for a bit then some defected and we swept the field in no time. Before that, the spetz basically went seal clubbing. Great game all, looking forward to the 29th!
On another note, my AK worked through most of it, cept for the small game at the end, now I can scrap it for my upcoming project.
Today was AWESOME! Firefights nearly the entire day, and still enough time to strategize. It was a very fun day.

Well, all the games are excellent.
On a lighter note, what was the official headcount from the game today?
Lightning Fast 09
08 Jan 06, 03:04 PM
hey Vigilante i think it was 39 people.
The official count was 39.
The points were Seals 15, Soviets 17, so the day went to the Soviets.
The way it looked in the morning the Seals were taking a beating but they came back in the True Seal Tradition in the afternoon.
The game on the 29th should be as good if not better. It will be hosted by Van Queen, some of you met him today. He is a vet of the Gulf war and a retired member of the Rangers. This is a take from an op that he took place in in Iraq. We have been working out the details and it sounds great. MOre details will be posted on the thread for that game.

the game was great... i loved being a militia in the beginning capturing 2 groups of 4 and 2 on my own was awesome. i didnt think militia would be so fun... then switching to the seals in the other half and sweeping the field was great too... didnt think that 4 people could make such a big difference...
thanks for the great game and field time gary

Hi Guys,
Sounds like a great game you had. How did your batteries perform this time around? Did the temperature affect the AEGs? What was the game time temp?
Thanks,
Ding
Weather has nothing to do with a batteries life, this is commonly mis-understood. AEG's will preform just as well in cold as they would in warm temperature. Its gas guns that do not work as well.
Vigilante
10 Jan 06, 02:06 PM
Well batteries tend to just operate a bit slower and cycle or w/e. It just seems like the ROF drops as the battery is cold, thats all. It was a nice day out so the battery life was not affected too horribly.
nemesis
11 Jan 06, 04:47 AM
You do not lose power faster in the winter but when the battery is cold the battery does not (in essense) feed as well... there for it seems the battery is dead
all you need to do is warm up your battery again and it works
that was a problem especially with 600mhz batteries a couple games ago

Its gas guns that do not work as well.Actually cold weather does decrease the amount of juice you will get out of your battery. If anyone is exceptionally bored, check out Panasonic's Nickel Metal Hydride Handbook (http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/battery/oem/images/pdf/Panasonic_NiMH_Overview.pdf). Here is what they say about the affects of temperature on discharge rate/effeciency:
The discharge voltage and discharge efficiency decrease in proportion as the current rises or the temperature drops.
I think the guys at OnlyBatteryPacks (http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/) state that you'll see 30-40% drop in effeciency. From my personal experience with using an 1100mah 8.4V mini NiMH battery pack in a upgraded G36 in freezing temperatures resulted in about 50% of what I got out of it when the weather was more pleasant.

well my New WA Infinity SV, and my M700 made their way out on the field on sunday. when I tapped off my gas and kept my mag in my vest pouch with boot warmers they worked super. I think I also left my pistol mag in my gun for half the game, and when ammo ran out in my G36. She was there to throw out 26 more rounds flawlessly. Great game, The end got really one sided. I believe when the spetz and the militia took a head count in J we had about 7-8 guy..... Seals had about 17. Thanks again gary and I dont mind paying 15 dollars a game. Just wondering though, is that going towards building supplies?
The Cost does include building supplies for the new CQB house that is coming this spring. There will be plenty of raffles coming in the future, the next one will be the 29th, hopefully an aeg plus other goodies.

Ill answer your question directly. Game temp was low to mid 30s not 8° like it was for the battle you attended. There was a bit of a breeze so standing still during the briefing was a bit harsh. Mini battery in my MP5SD worked great the entire game.
btw..see you Sunday the 15th.

Man I wish my friend would have come to this game with me, sounds like you guys had a blast. I do agree with the standing around part, whenever I was waiting for the next round my hands would get so cold, but the minute I got into the field and those trees broke up the wind, I would have to start peeling off layers, just walking around helped too.

It wasn't too much of problem this last game because it was a bit over 30 degrees and the only time mine fogged up was when i was prone..

12 Jan 06, 03:34 AM
Mine did not fog up, as I use mesh goggles. When I used to use my regular safety glasses in the 8 and 18 degree games a while back, they fogged up horribly, even with the anti fog. Simply all the moisture from breathing.
No fogging here (ESS NVG's).
