Hey I plan to get a TM MP5K PDW for x-mas off of Airsoft GI, or maybe another retailer if I find it cheaper or better selection/service. If I did get it from ASGI I'd get the 350 FPS upgrade, what battery would I then need to power it? From the batteries AS GI sells, what's the best for the PDW? I'm guessing the 9.6v 600mah stick type, but I don't know anything about batteries. Thanks in advance.

The only "regular" battey that will fit a MP5k/PDW is a 8.4 stick.

There are some custom sticks out there that will fit but they are somewhat harde to come by.

but will the 8.4 stick work with a systema M100 spring?

That's what I ran in my old PDW with a M100.

The best thing to get for a battery is one of the KAN 1050 Ni-MH 8.4 sticks. (I think they also now do a 1200 Ni-MH, but I forget.)

You can run a 9.6v stick if you remove the cocking handle. There was also an article on Arnie's about routing the battery into the folding stock. The guy I sold my PDW to went with a stock mounted battery bag. There is also a mod you can do to route the bettery into a PEQ Ris-mounted battery box, but you need a scope mount.

Otherwise, Tank is right, a standard 8.4v stick battery should work fine. You will see a slight decrease in rate of fire, but not enough to really make much of a difference.
