The MP7 isn't on the market yet for real guns. It's still being tested or what not. I think it will be a while before we see an airsoft version.

yeah i know I just thought since every one wants one though that they could put that aside and get one anyway. I mean its made by our good friends at the CYMA corporation so it can't be that bad. ;)

it woun't be an AEP its an AEG, its big enough for sure. come to think of it it will probably use a stick battery like the MP5K and AK47S. TM is comming out with new AEPs though (i wan't me that scorpian...):

Actually Marui plans on using and AEP mechbox for their MP7. And I highly doubt it will use a stick batery. There really wouldn't be enough room unless they do some very creative engineering.

The real steel is only 13.396 inches long (stock closed) and a stick battery is 7 7/8 inces long w/o wires. So when you figure in all the other stuff that has to go in that small package, there simply isn't enough room for a stick battery. Nor is there room for any gearbox other than an AEP type.

OH and just an FYI. The real steel went into production back in 2001, and is rumored to be in use with some German Spec. Ops. units. (such as KSK).

ok the leangths of the MP5k and the MP7-PDW

MP5K: 325mm http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg15-e.htm

MP7-PDW: 340mm http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg49-e.htm

the MP5K uses a stick battery and the MP7 is actualy longer, there for it is perfectly possible that the MP7 will use one also. its also feezable then that TM would use a standard AEG gearbox. thats not to say that i am entirly right. infact i could be dead wrong, they could use a AEP gearbox with a larger battery.

They said that TM is classifying the MP7, TMP, Mac10 and scorpion in a new type of electic gun that is neither aeg or aep, i dont remember exactly what they were calling it though.

MP7, Very sexy. I really like the looks of it. Telescopic stock, a fold up front grip, I likes it, I likes it a lot :D I would have to agree with element though, I think we would see this a an AEP.....maybe. It's small enough.

Yes, however if you look at where the ejection port is, the hight, the barrel placement, the fact that the magazine is in the pistol grip, etc. You'll see that there is not enough room for a regular gearbox. I believe the length of the MP7 includes the flash suppressor, which looks to be at least 2 inches. The difference in length between the MP7 & the MP5K is barely over 1/2 an inch. (0.5122" to be exact) So you see, the body of the MP7 is smaller than an MP5K and a K barely has enough room for a stick. So...no stick battery (in the MP7) either.

Tank, I think you brought up the other reason why it will probably be an AEP; the magazine is in the grip. Most of the AEGs are configured to have the BBs feed from a completely different area, not to mention motor placement.

they could have the motor/gearbox in the back half, the magazine coming up through the middle coming to the piston/cylinder/nozzle in the middle top of the gun and the battery stored in the front. Or maybe the Battery in the Magazine? just my 2 cents.

Well back when the new TM lineup with the mp7 was announcedI started a thread on it. old thread (http://www.wiairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490&highlight=marui)

You can find a good link to the article about the TM lineup at the tokyo game show here (http://www.ukasc.net/comment.php?comment.news.751)

they say that the guns will be classified in the "electric compact machine gun series" and will be similar to the AEP's design.Lots of cool pics of the stuff there.
